Just meant that they have no assigned class schedule. Many are also the AD, and I am sure they have plenty on their plates to keep them busy. They probably spend a great amount of time with their kids and S&C coach each day.

By the way, there are a handful of SC jobs that pay over $100,000 with little or no teaching responsibilities.

If you are looking to be marketable for a promotion or move up the ranks, I believe that you need to take the job at the winning school

In NC, my AC suppliment is based off years experience. It is somewhere around $2500 before taxes. Most HC suppliments arent alot higher, I would estimate about 4-5,000. However, to help with HC pay many in the area are given 11 or 12 month contracts. Which gives them several thousand extra dollars. Teaching schedules vary from school to school

To the much earlier comment about App being ful of D-1a transfers and castoffs.......App has few transfers from D-1A Most of their starters they recruit. Heck the year the beat Michigan or maybe the year before when they won their 2nd in a row, 6 of their 22 starters were WALK ONS

Our stadium seats about 5000 and has two bathrooms and a scoreboard without video screen. Very average for NC.

If you get a chance and you are interested I highly recommend going to East Carolina. Coach Ruffin McNeil and his staff are very very open and forth coming. They sat around and talked ball all night, even several hours after the sessions had ended.

If you are a 4-4 cover 3 team and your FS cant make a play on the seams, it only takes 4 plays to give up 28. With that said, I wouldnt WANT my starting QB to be my starting FS but at a small school I understand the reasoning.

If you need him, play him. What good will it do if you score 28 pts but cant stop anyone?

Tell him you would like for him to change positions. If he is against the move, leave him at his current position and let him stand next to you a little while, and keep reminding him he could be getting on the field at another position.

In NC nearly everyone makes the playoffs, especially in the smallest divison (1a). What happened is about 6 or 7 yrs ago, the state subdivided the playoffs (1a, 1aa, 2a, 2aa, etc...) This doubled the amount of playoff games. Since a cut of each playoff game gate goes to the state it doubled the amount of money the state brings in. For that reason it will never change. However, under this format a 4-7 or 3-8 team qualifies regularly. Have even seen a 2-9 and this past year a 1-10 team qualify. We went to this because 8-2 teams were getting left out under the old system.

Elementary Night-Home game where all the elementary or Pee wees get in free and are recognized on the field prior to the game. We also let them form a tunnel for us to run through.
We also do a speed/agility workout two nights a week for 4-8 graders. We charge $10/session or $15 for both sessions in a week. Gets kids involved and is an easy fundraiser.
Kids camp in early summer.

I was betting on some kind of playaction boot with a crossing route. I agreed with the decision to go for it, I disagreed with the playcall.

Not a Head Coach, but if I was, my number one priority would be to hire a DC. Preferably a DC with a strong background in SC and special teams to help me in both of those areas, as I imagine being HC pulls you in alot of directions. Next would be either a QB coach b/c I would try to coach my own OL

touchdowng-I wasnt suggesting that you have to wait, just that that needed to be done along with some of the stuff that has been mentioned for the kids already in your program.

I think too, you have to start with younger kids that are not yet in your program. Have speed/agility/summer youth camps for middle school and elementary school kids. Not only can it serve as a fund raiser, but it will get younger kids involved in your program and make them want to be a whatever your nickname is. This will result in more pride in the program. Only problem is this approach takes time.

We just got a new HC who came in and bought UA uniforms. They look great and the kids love them. The pants were great, however, we had alot of problems with the jerseys ripping and tearing. (More so than a normal jersey) However, UA has agreed to replace the entire set of jersey's that we had problems with.
