Miracle on Ice. For football I'd have to say Stanford over USC a few years ago.

I'd have to go with the hockey game. Great game and a fantastic movie. It was funny because the game was on tape delay on TV and I didn't know it. When it was over I called a buddy and told him we'd won and he said, No $hit. It happened twelve hours ago.". It was still fun.

I dont give a rip how many games michigan win, the Michigans, oklahomas, and nebraskas dont lose to fcs schools. let me make that easier. the true heavy weight in college football dont lose to d-1aa schools. I would even give in on navy vs ND a couple of years ago, But with good coaching army, navy and the air force academy can beat anybody. That no matter what happens with weiss at ND, Paul Johnson has me convinced he is one top 2 or 3 best coaches in the country if not the best.

I do agree Coach Johnson gets overlooked by many people. Still the talent level at ND vs the talent level at navy is incomparable.

Michigan New coaching staff, new system Program in upheavel Very poor DI team- losing season APP State: Established coaching staff- Moore is a stud Established FSD Power- Championship level team Not that far fetched at all-

App. State beat Michigan two years ago, before Rodriguez was there. So, the Michigan team that was beaten by App. State was not the program in turmoil that they were in 2008.

I agree with douglas beating tyson....stunning.
I also thought nova knocking off gtown was amazing
any time team usa lost in basketball seemed like a huge upset to me.

App. St. vs. Mich for me..as a former 1-AA player, to see one of our best beat one of their best is classic. As someone mentioned, UM later beat Florida in the Capital One Bowl, so they weren't a lousy team. Does that mean App. St. could have beaten Florida that year.... ?

I was in Lake Placid at the time. The street party after was indescribable. I'll second the Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson

1) Giants over the Patriots in SB 43... I mean they were undefeated. (Yes, biased as well) 2) App St over Michigan (I'm a Michigan supporter too, but they were overrated that year, couldn't stop the spread with the new DC.) 3) Miracle on Ice... before my time but I saw the Disney movie... haha

I think it was Douglas over Tyson, as well. Tyson was a bigger favorite than all of the teams mentioned above!!!

I think matten should be suspended from the board for one week for mentioning a soccer game on this board.

Ashes Cricket Test Series England V Australia 5th Day 1981 Ian Botham scores 149 not out to win the match.
English bookmakers were offering odds of 500 to 1 on that moring of England winning.
