Saw this on yahoo sports, that stadium is incredible. Also saw a school in mass. canceling their entire athletics program because of a 1.6 mil short-fall in the district. It's a shame.

We're pretty close to that, only 11 restrooms, 3 concession stands, 1 video scoreboard and 16,000 seats short....

That's a really nice pipedream...but come on. I believe that facilities are important for the good of an athletic program, but how does that stadium benefit the community or athletics in general.
I think we have a set of bleachers that hold about 500 on the home side. None on the away side. 2 port-o-crappers, and oh-yea...a reject hotdog cart that's towed behind a truck. We don't even go into our locker room at half (even during rain) because its too far away and has no boards or open spaces for discussion. And just like rocketcoach mentioned...our season hangs in the balance year to year because of budgetary votes. Athletics are held hostage at every budget vote it seems. Our board just tried to get turf/lights and it went down because the community deemed it "unnecessary" in this economic situation. And it was going to be 72% funded by state money. I just can't see how this is possible on the regular tax payer's dollar.

If they were to raise the money from tax payers only it would be around $750 per person raise but thats counting the whole population. I assume they are getting a decent amount from local business and donations.

Our stadium seats about 5000 and has two bathrooms and a scoreboard without video screen. Very average for NC.

Ours is pretty similar to that in rural central Louisiana. We have grass, goal posts, a scoreboard, lights, stands that seat close to 1000. And for good measure, the cane field is right outside the fence (which we're lucky to have).

I laugh when I visualize where we play and try to associate the word "stadium" with it.

They could build our stadium for the cost of one restroom in the stadium shown. Not that I'm complaining about the 400 people we can fit in ours!

I only know of two teams in central Illinois that has anything remotely close to being a stadium and that is the University of Illinois and Illinois State University. Eastern Illinois where I attend doesn't even have the stones to call their's a stadium.

Allen is an affluent suburb of North Dallas (east side). There are several stadiums in Texas that you wouldn't believe. Not THAT nice, but spectacular none the less. The Dallas Cowboys practice in Southlake Carrol's (west North Dallas) indoor facility from time to time.

Building will begin in about a month on our new facility. It'll be the best in the league and the better than any school without twice our enrollment.
If things go well we'll be on the field halfway through the season and it will be completed for the following year.
Till then we're borrowing a practice field and renting a game field... =(

We are now one of two schools in our conference without field turf in a new stadium. New stadium in the works, but with this economy it doesn't look good to be building. We want to pass a referendum next fall, but no way that will happen if we build a new stadium (even if the $$ comes from completely different places, people in the community don't understand that).

Our stadium is really nice, one of the best in the state. It's a city stadium that we share with three other schools, though, so the field takes a heck of a beating over the course of a season. It's a grass field and they were supposed to convert it to field turf last year. The money was budgeted and everything. Admin outthought themselves, though, and "postponed" the project. Then another genius in admin decided to use the money to replace the concrete sidewalks at all four HSs with decorative paving stones. Really. In addition, our press box is really tiny.
Five of the schools in our district are in the neighboring city and they also play in a city stadium. So, nine of the ten teams in our league (there's also a suburban school that has its own stadium) play in two stadiums. That means that we play a lot of Thursday night and Saturday games. They were also supposed to get turf but didn't. So, despite the fact that the maintenance crews take a lot of pride and work hard, there are field issues late in the season.
I don't want to sound like I don't appreciate what we have, though. It is a nice stadium.

We have a stadium that had the center 100 or so seats in front of the press box condemned last year. Going to try to pass a 1.4 million dollar bond in Nov and probably won't. Very poor rural area.

Our stadium hold 2500-3000, is natural turf, and is fairly nice (average for here). Construction has almost been completed on our new Gym/Field House (will seat 2000 indoor) and new Concession stand (2 story with 8 bathrooms). We're excited here for sure!

Most of the big schools in Huntsville play in Milton Frank Stadium, which seats 12K people. It could use a renovation to the stands/bathrooms, but it is a big place. It seats 12K people. And the surface is field turf, which isn't reflected in this old picture.

They're the biggest school in the state...I've never seen their facilities.

Bob Jones plays at Madison City Stadium. I haven't seen any pics of it online either, and I have yet to go there. Only opportunities I have to see other stadiums is during the playoffs, and Bob Jones typically doesn't make it past the first round. Although it sounds like they have good coaching now, and may very well finally become the powerhouse that they should be.
