This is a two part question...
1) How many coaches are on the high school football coaching staff?
2) How many of those coaches teach/work AT the high school?

We have 3 coaching stipends
I get one, then I have two paid assistants, both are teachers.
The rest of the guys are volunteers and we typically carry about 4 or 5 volunteers that attend when they can.

The school I coached at last fall had eight paid coaches plus two volunteers (1723 enrollment).
Three of the paid coaches teach in the HS, one in the MS. One of the volunteers teaches in a neighboring district. I taught in HS until retirement.
The program I am taking over now (512 enrollment) has seven paid positions with one unfilled at this time. One coach is a HS teacher, two in MS, one travels between buildings.
Also had three-four alums currently in college who volunteered last fall and may be back this season.

We had 7 coaches last year. All of us were paid except for one volunteer. Only three of us are district employees and one of our big problems is we co-op and there are no coaches who are district employees of the other school in our co-op.

We have 12 coaches on game day. At any given practice there will be anywhere from 7-12. Three teach at the school and another works for a contract counseling company at the school.

8 paid, 2 "helpers" for sure, maybe 4 total "helpers".
Only 3 coaches teach in build, I teach at another local high school, another coach is a sub in a middle school, and the other three don't teach.

High school level - Co-op with enrollment of about 450
1) 4 paid (1 HC, 1 DC, 1 OC, 1 D & O Line) + as many volunteers as possible. Last year we only had 2 volunteers for 3 levels). But of those 4 paid, one has to act as the Freshman HC and one has to act as the F/S HC.
1a) Now, if we have 60 kids in the program (Fresh-Senior) then apparently we get to have 6 paid coaches. If we have 59, then only 4.
1b) The administration told us we will probably be playing Fresh/Soph games on Mondays and Freshman games on Thursdays. So, all 4 paid coaches are the varsity HC and Coordinators, but somehow they expect us to prepare for Friday varsity games on Tuesdays and Wednesdays since we will be coaching Fresh & F/S on Mondays and Thursdays. We couldn't get throught everything in 6 days last year....now we get 2 days.
2) Only the OC is an employee of one of the coop schools. The second school has nobody involved (incl. volunteers)
