I am lloking for ideas on how to involve our elementary students with our football program. I wanted to get our players around those younger kids and hopefully it can be good for both. Ideas?

Elementary Night-Home game where all the elementary or Pee wees get in free and are recognized on the field prior to the game. We also let them form a tunnel for us to run through.
We also do a speed/agility workout two nights a week for 4-8 graders. We charge $10/session or $15 for both sessions in a week. Gets kids involved and is an easy fundraiser.
Kids camp in early summer.

Our flag football program (K-3) and summer youth camp (3-8) are coached by our players. They get volunteer/community service hours through the school for it, we (the coaches) get some free labor, and the kids (players and youth) love it and reconnect during the football season for a few "special" practices when youth are invited out. Our HS players also make it a point to go out in their gear to the youth games (on Sundays) and show their support.
Having the flag program start young helps get those kids away from other nonsense like soccer!

On game days, we have 2 players at each elem school to help open car doors for the kids as they pull up to the front of the school in the mornings. They wear their jerseys and the little kids just LOVE it. The players go back to the school they went to when they were little
Neat story. Our RB this year is a 3 year starter, has broken all kind of records, got every school in the country after him, etc......... Anyway Marcus will go help out at the drop of a hat.
Literally when the kids see that Marcus was there, they wouldn't get out of the car until he came by and opened the door for them. The cars were backed up into the street...

That's cute, how do you work it out with your guys' morning schedule? I'm assuming they're missing class to do this...

actually the elems start at 7:40, so they get dropped off from around 7ish until then.
The high school lets the kids in the building at 8:00 and the tardy bell isn't until 8:10. All the schools are staggered b/c we have bus drivers with elem routes and HS routes.
you be amazed at the emails we get from the principals and teahers at the elems.
