Third person shooter in last man standing format. It’s a blast.

Man. They really don’t care anymore lol. Hopefully, you guys do right by the kids that show and hold the ones who don’t show up accountable. For what it’s worth, Fortnite is a blast.

I agree with the above posts. Just send two most recent and ask for two most recent. Wish them luck and see them opening night. Anybody who refuses when you guys open against each other is a schmuck.

It's interesting. Essentially uses G C G in the core and then T is split out wide. T wears ineligible number, and can catch a pass so long as it's thrown backwards and behind LOS, a lateral. Other receivers are shifting on and off the ball. I don't know if this is especially because of him or not, but the eligible receivers must raise their hands two full seconds before the snap or they are not eligible to catch a forward pass. Only problem ... It's not like high school officiating is good enough to where they catch all the guys who are allowed to go out for a pass and all the guys who aren't allowed. It's hard for them to see all of that so they get away with stuff. It was fun to coach against.

I would ask about @kurtbryan, but I have to go to clinic. Coached against him week 10. It helped us a ton getting ready for playoffs. -_-

Coaches from other sports crack me up with how they treat the weight room.
Basketball - It’ll mess up their shot. Baseball - They’ll get too bulky. Wrestling - They’ll put on too much weight.
If I showed you pictures of professional and college level baseball players, basketball players, and wrestlers ... They’re JACKED.
Even the soccer guys look all confused when I tell them to actually look at those soccer players’ legs.
How are you going to get bulky? My starting RB lifts everyday and is 185 pounds. How are you going to get bigger than him? People who say that baffle me.

100% agree with Anders. Side note - Nothing is more comical than skill guys correcting OL guys on the technical aspect of blocking. The good coaches usually keep to themselves or kind of do it off to the side and that's fine. Keep it schematic or add a little this or that. But, when you get young skill coaches trying to teach OL how to block, that's always comedic gold. "You can do it, put your back into it!"

I'd probably bring up coaching a level and position other than his son's and gauge his response. If his thing is helping kids, it'll show. Last thing you need is a dad who's telling your QB at home what the offense, team, and program should REALLY look like. Been there, done that. No thanks, never again.

Only person Belichick owes an explanation to is his boss. The notion of him owing something to the fans smacks of entitlement. You are not owed anything as a fan.

I think it depends on how you and your son interact. Both my father and I had a hard time separating the game from the relationship. So, when I got to an age where he could coach me, neither of us wanted any part of it. I got to be coached by great men and he got to be my biggest fan.

Always used V for DL; B for LBs; C for CBs; F for FS.

If it's disciplinary in nature, I tell the kid as soon as the offense has occurred and the staff has made their decision. If that's on a Monday, then he finds out as early as Monday. If it's because of something he did that day, then he finds out before we even leave the school for the game.
But, apparently, this was not disciplinary in nature. As being such, I have no idea when I would tell a kid because I have never played a kid for 98% of the snaps in the regular season and then decided it would be in the best interest of the team to reduce that number to zero for the championship game.

Can’t help the ones who aren’t there. Set the standard and expectations. If he meets them all, he plays just like anybody else would, albeit on a much tighter leash. I’ve coached and made a difference in the lives of plenty of troubled kids. I’ve also coached and didn’t make any significant difference at all in the lives of troubled kids. Rather try and fail than not try at all. If he really has the kind of character you think he has, then he shouldn’t be able to hack it. As for the putting him on the field and mentally and physically abusing him comment someone made up above ... WTH.

What's even crazier is that Saban, Venables, Smart, and Don Brown are on an entirely different level than he is. Don Brown is the odd man out in that group for me. Blitz, Blitz, & Blitz again doesn't get my wheels turning as much I've watched him blitz himself out of championships the last few seasons. I feel the same way.

How are some of you guys not out there? In Northern CA, we play the anthem immediately before kickoff. Is that not the case in your areas? We don't make it a point to be out there, we just have no choice. Ours is played around 7:23, we don't come out the locker room to around 7:27... Run straight to the field. If that’s the case, we would never make it either. So, if they play it at 7:23 and you’re on the field, are you supposed to be done with all pre game and everything by then? For most teams here, if you don’t go in the locker room before the game, you do pre game all the way up to the anthem.

Even if I was to get a guy I trusted, he would still have to run something I want our team identity to be. I've got some friends who are amazing offensive coaches and I trust their skills, but I'm not going to head coach a team slinging the ball 70% of the time.

Like most said, I just sit back and become a fan. Naturally, I question every call the OC and DC make. I challenge the integrity of the staff for playing players of a certain race over other players of other races. I make sure to yell "Stop running the same play!" every chance I get. Oh wait ... That just happens on Friday nights.

Once. Treated it as I would an ex-girlfriend. I didn't come back because I left for a reason. Didn't want to get fooled by the "director's cut version" of the relationship I had with that school in my head. If you left or were asked to leave and those issues were never addressed, they'll be there when you return.

Seeing as I'm new to the ranks of "guys taking a year off", this sounds like something fun to do. Any suggestions on areas to get hotel rooms?

Kids always emulate what they see on tv as being cool. As soon as I saw that Baker Mayfield stuff go down in Ohio, I said to my wife “Thank god we don’t have a flag or I’d be breaking up a fight over stuff like this later this year.”

... on a Monday! Located in Northern California where we’ve been hit by a devastating combination of wildfires and high winds. Had our Friday game cancelled due to air pollution and moved to today. Our game this Friday vs our rivals has been moved to Saturday. Awkward times up here. Also had to practice in the gym the last three days since we couldn’t go outside. Wtf. Anybody else ever do stuff like this? A few times. The big ones were when the DC sniper forced the postponement of games across Virginia and after Hurricane Isabel. Around here it doesn't even take a disaster. We share a city stadium with three other schools and five schools in a neighboring city share a stadium. We play games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If a game has to be postponed there's nowhere to put it but Monday. Was there ever any issues coming out of a Monday game directly into another game? Players feeling sluggish, beat up, unmotivated, etc? We should be good seeing as how it’s our rival game, but it’s still good to hear it from guys who’ve experienced it. How’d you handle the practices coming out of the game? Any differently or business as usual?

I don’t think I could coach pro ball just because I don’t love football itself enough to sit through the tediousness. That’s just me though.

Best coaching advice I ever got was "Coach your guys." That should be your answer for anything that is out of your control. You're a defensive coach on a team that doesn't score much ... coach your guys. You're an assistant and you think the offense should be switched to something else ... coach your guys. You're outmatched in talent every single game you play ... coach your guys. Just coach your guys. They deserve your full attention.
