Did he truly just decide to come out for football? Or was his plan all along to come out late to skip all the off season stuff? Or did the other football players recruit him and finally get him to come out?
I can see making up a certain amount of practices, or doing some kind of extra work to be eligible, but it would be reasonable. If he's got multiple D1 offers in other sports it's not like he's been sitting on the couch playing Fortnite all summer. Personally I'd hate watching him ball out all basketball season after a round 2 playoff loss because he didn't want to do a couple weeks of 100 yard bear crawls.

The local high school has 1800 students and less than 40 out for football for all (9-12) grades. We're starting to hear talk of it shutting down if numbers don't improve.

This reminds me of that episode of Diff'rent Strokes where Kimberly wants access to some boys' club and they didn't want to give her access. So in protest Willis runs for something like prom queen, wins, and in doing so knocks down the gender barrier giving her access to the club she was trying to join.

It's how you put them on, you don't just go through the slits once, you go through and back. I'll try to explain...there are 3 slits, call them A, B, and C with A being closest to the T hook. Insert strap through slit C from underneath, then take it down through A from above. Next take it through slit B from below, followed by slit C from above, pull any slack out of the strap and you're good to go. If you have it this way, you will need to tape it, but I've never had issues unless the strap is too small width wise for the T hook. #SensualFootball

vanden48 How did the masonite hold up for the stencils? That stuff seems sketchy to me when it starts getting wet.

Depends on how fast you are moving. If you go really slow obviously you are spraying more paint on the ground. Typically It took me about 25-30 gallons of mixed paint to do the while lines. Ours held 10 Gallons at a time. Got the outline and normally to the 5 to 15 yard line. Next 10 gallons got me close to the other end. Normally about the 20 yard line. Finished the stripes and did the hashes. I normally did the Numbers with Aerosol as using the dilute can be a bit of a paint with the stencils we have. Aerosol does not drip as much. If you have to do the restrictor lines and coaches box that will add another 5-10 Gallons Thanks. So that would be 12-15 gallons of paint mixed 2:1? Ours has a wand attached to it and I thought it might be easier to do numbers with, but maybe not.

How much coverage do you get out of the bulk machine? We've got an ancient one I'm gonna work with this year and see if it's worth using. If you cut it at 2:1, how many gallons of paint would you need for all the lines?

fleck lovers are people who are on their 3rd or fourth pyramid scheme even though they never made any money still thinking that this is their big chance to be their own boss and drive a dodge stratus if only they bring enough positive attitude and doggone enthusiasm! Shut. It. Down.

. Maybe the problem is that you don't have the secret decoder ring. But to get the secret decoder ring you need to be a 33rd degree freemason with access to the all seeing eye.

OP did reply and say the playbooks were asked for by the youth league. Which is weird because why ask for them and then thumb your nose at the gift horse?

How about this: they aren't a feeder program for you. They likely were there before you got to the high school, they'll be there after you're gone. It's their league, they make the rules, they raise the money, they set their vision.

Been on a Run the Power kick lately. The scheme ones are good, but the ones where it's somebody they know and they're just telling stories or that go behind the curtains at college/pro programs are great listens.
Iron Game Chalk Talk has some good stuff, he just shut it down but the archives are still there.

Timing is everything. Sold a house here a few years ago that sat on the market over a year. Today you can just about name your price for any house in decent condition around here.

Contact your feeder middle school, I'd kill to get some weight lifting stuff for our kids! Amen. I've only got 7 racks with benches and about 2700# of olympic plates.

I like using one side of a chute. I think some kind of bar/rope/something over their head when they are in their stance helps with going forward instead of up on the first step. Mostly what I do with our chutes (when I have to do OL), is put them in a stance where their hand is between the pipes going up, which puts them right under the crossbar, then put a dummy about a step away. If they go straight up they bang their head, but if they go forward at all they clear the bar and make contact and drive.
You could put together a long sawhorse looking thing pretty easy and cheap for this.

HA! The first picture on that page with the saw horses is mine, put it together and posted it here my first year in youth ball a few years ago. There are some full pvc examples on there that look simple enough if you're just wanting to teach get offs. They won't stand up to a lot of impact if you want to do live drills with them.

Are torn and/or pulled muscles so common an occurrence we should base our 'get ready for practice' routines around them? Or use the lack of pulled muscles as justification for the routines they use? Were people pulling muscles left and right before teams started static stretching in the first place?

I've graduated into the realm of not GAF anymore...I hope that all of the 3 star kids from the twitter rankings go to private ING type schools where they can do ridiculous footwork drills all day with a guy who has a PHD in running f'n speed ladders......the rest of us will play football with regular kids and have a great time. .

I've developed a one reply policy. You can usually tell somebody's intentions in a thread in one reply or less. If I feel somebody is getting preachy/snarky/know-it-all on one of my posts I will reply once and see how they handle it. If they don't even acknowledge I may have a point I ignore it from that point on. Let 'em have the last word, I'll save my blood pressure for important things.
