I'm still here...barely...but here. Duece I always wanted to ask why you deleted your old account and started a new one? He had to go on the run from the Florida athletic department. Creating dissent and causing a ruckus. #FireDanMullen

I won my last game last year to go 1-6.
Edit: I also realize it says 'The' last game, not 'Your' last game.

Look into PJ Fleck... He has a billion acronym's the he uses in his program. One example: F.A.M.I.L.Y. = Forget About Me I Love You Sorry, I just came off 5 years of Butch Jones. Sloganizing makes me queasy.

I know a couple of guys well-versed in BSB offensive line play (Block SomeBody!) if you want to research it. My experience is it leads to heavy FBO usage.

Haven't done it, and I could be totally wrong, but it looks like they've taken the Strollo/McNally blocking concepts, combined Heads Up and Hawk tackling, and packaged them together to sell.

Part of the problem is that we DO have a weight lifting class, but it's taught by....yep....the track coach. I literally laughed out loud when I read this. Good luck, Coach.

There was a great article posted about knighter and the work he was doing. At some kind of juvenile facility iirc? He needs to be writing books on culture building above any of the rest of us, of course he probably has a lot more leeway with methods than we do.

To me.. length isn't as important as width... You ain't the only one... The one they built here last year is full width and 30 yds deep. It's fine, but 10 more yards would be a huge improvement, imo. Not worth giving up the full field width tho.

I've heard the chemicals in wasp spray make it illegal to use as a defense outside the home (where anything can be used). Where pepper spray is non-chemical and approved for self defense. The issue is that since pepper spray is approved for self-defense, it's banned in many schools, whereas wasp spray has a legit insecticide use so it's therefore legal to keep around. Maybe this is the {censored} problem then. A perfectly fine non-lethal method of self defense is illegal in school, but something that's illegal out in normal public you would get a pass for using in school. And people want the same government that came up with these rules to fix things.

One highly over-looked thing is getting enough sleep. You can cover a LOT of bad choices getting plenty of good sleep. Last year I started making a concerted effort to get 7+ hours a night, in near total darkness. I've never been a morning person, but I pop right awake now ready to go. Shawn Stevenson has some good material on sleep (he's a little touchy-feely for me, but that's his schtick).

Instead of, or in addition to, hammers and bats why not keep a can of pepper spray in your room? Better range than a bat, don't have to be as discriminating as a firearm.

Art of Manliness had a recent podcast with John Berardi on IF, worth a listen. Dom D'Agostino and Peter Attia both have good appearances on Tim Ferriss's podcast talking about going keto. rosey65 do you measure blood levels to stay in official ketosis or do you just follow keto guidelines? When I quit being a lazy ass and actually get proactive about what I eat Robb Wolf's stuff is what I follow.

After spending a night thinking about this, there is no way you can create a tough team by just "grinding"...there is much more that that although that can be a part of it..IMO..kids, all people really, will fight for something bigger than themselves, their family, their group/team/brother....build trust confidence, stamina, and to me most importantly love Check out Sebastian Junger's book "Tribe". It's about how men, especially young men, operate and bond in small group teams. Part of it is told through military/ptsd stories but it applies to football too.

We have a few kids use the integrated pants for practice, and just use their girdle with knee pads in pants for games. I think one or two even pulled game pants on over the practice pants on game night.

we used them for our lineman last year...we did not suffer one concussion in practice...could be anecdotal...never heard about the warranty thing I could see them being effective against the 'multiple sub-concussive hits' and how they add up over time with linemen.

We now have to have player/parent sign a waiver drawn up by the school district's lawyer if they want to wear one. This after the high school purchased them for the whole team about 8 years ago.

If someone is a drug dealer (allegedly, suspected, rumored to be) do we have a responsibility to keep that out of our locker rooms and away from our players? Does is HAVE to be proven before you don't let him around? I wouldn't want a junior/senior sneaky ass drug dealer around my sophomore and freshmen players. There's a reason they call them 'pushers'.
