I imagine having the fewer rules the better.
Keep it simple. Don't post anything that will make the player and the program look bad (stuff about sex, drugs, etc). Don't reveal anything about the team, and definitely don't do anything like Antonio Brown did after divisional round.

I'm sorry but I don't buy some of these answers. It really ins't OK to cry about a poor performance or losing a football game. What kind of shi* is that? It has NOTHING to do with toughness or the fact a kid "sold out" or "worked so hard", kids need to learn that crying is OK when family members die, seeing little kids struggle with cancer, family issues, etc.... not freaking football or any other sport. And please don't start with "maybe you and your kids don't value winning or take it seriously enough". Our program has won multiple titles at the highest level and I truly believe one of the reasons is our kids understand football is NOT life and death. Our kids play loose and aggressive. They do prepare like it is the most important part of high school in the winter, summer, and fall. It is important, but never worth crying over. Teach kids that if making mistakes or losing makes them mad enough to cry, they need to evaluate what they can do better in terms of preparation to perform better and win next time. Take the anger and frustration and channel it the right way instead of "letting it all out". Crying is something that is beyond a bodies control. It's therapeutic, removes stress related toxins from the body. I teared up after we lost in the conference championship game this year. When you're emotionally invested in something, that stuff happens.

Other than after a tough loss we only had one cry and that's because we wouldn't put him back in after he was concussed. That was because he was being shouted at by his father to go back in.

It was the best thing I read over winter break. I'm still in the process of reading Trickett's book so that could change but still

8-3 is better than what they had been getting prior to the coaching change too. They're like the damn Longhorns of high school football. Were great for a while, and haven't done anything worthwhile in a decent amount of time, but maintain the attitude that they are champions. (Sorry Texas fans) I'm pretty sure the towns motto or whatever is literally city of champions

Reported the guy last night, I'm definitely going to change my username to something different. It's sad but I don't want to risk anything like this happening eventually.

8th grade team went 3-7 and missed the playoffs. Injuries and the inability to bounce back from adversity killed us.
7th grade we went 10-1 and lost in the championship game to our cross county rival 14-6. We had out scored opponents like almost 300-60something but they just had a huge RB and controlled the clock and for the first time our offense didn't have a good night. Sucks for the kids.
After the game a parent came over and started shouting about his kid not making all conference (our HC did screw him but it was a thing where only 4 can make it per team, but he was best player in conference).
Overall great first year and this is definitely what I want to do.

Our OC printed off one for every coach on the staff I put mine in my pocket, but I don't call plays. If I did I would probably attach it to something because it's inconvenient to put in the pocket and I would probably throw it.
As for the visor, I wish I would've picked the normal hat. It's extremely comfortable but I feel it looks awkward. So I wear a bucket hat.
I wear shorts and will because I hate pants, until someone makes me put them on I'll be in shorts probably.

Watching it on YouTube and the broadcasters are talking about you having a blog.
First time I've watched your RB in a game that isn't just highlights, he's a beast.

Powderpuff football with girls in pads & males turning into drag queen cheerleaders. This except it's two hand touch, and not only are their guy cheerleaders there's a drag homecoming court "backwards homecoming". Guys get in dresses and wigs and are introduced like a homecoming court. My senior year I "won", then had to practice with all the makeup on my face that I couldn't wash off. That's as far as we go, nothing physical or anything and there's nothing but a pep rally on game day.

Had a similar situation with our 7th grade team. We were up about 16-0 and the Ref came up to us and said the other team was going to quit at halftime if we didn't put in our backups (who were already in). We won 24-0 and they quit at the end of the third.

I'm guessing it was a typo No, the announcer said "tud" as the pronunciation for TD. Similar to when someone says "ribee" (Rib-e) when they read RBI on the stat sheet. Maybe he was reading a prompter or making a joke of. I've never heard of a tud, must be pretty good to have his own stay though!

Could've been a good opportunity to show your kids "Hey just because someone was a douche to you doesn't mean you have to be a douche right back." I'm sure it felt great to do it, but remember you're not just embarrassing him you're embarrassing kids.
Best case scenario would have been to walked by and said something sarcastically nice. I'm sure your kids knew about the incident last year and it would be a valuable lesson for them.
What you did wasn't that bad though, I probably would've did the same 7/10

I'm conducting a survey. I have three questions for you to answer about practice each week. 1.) How long do your practices last? 2.) Does each practice include at least one special team unit? 3.) Does your staff use a practice plan? Thanks! Middle school 1. 2 hours 2. Depends. 3. No First year coaching and the guys I coach with are all really good guys but we aren't as organized as I would like to be. I would like to be on a practice plan and keeping things moving at a faster tempo. I like to be really organized though so the first few practices were rough on me because I wanted structure I guess.

Love it. For anyone who is an auditory learner it's a blessing, but it's a great resource either way. He's a member here.
There's another podcast that's like 8 episodes in called coachspeak and it's by ironman football blog, I think they're also a member here.

Which Dillon team are we talkin? That's what I'm wondering. If we can have the Jason Street senior year team without him being injured then it's a no brainer. I think even with Saracen they could win the league. Coach Eric Taylor just gets the best out of his players.

So this is like a glazier Netflix? Would this be a good tool for a young coach? Do you have a glazier membership already?. No I do not, I'm 19 and I'm supposed to coach MS ball this fall and I'm wondering if this would be a good resource for a young coach still learning. Edit: you don't have to have a glazier membership to get this do you? The way I read it was that you can pay the monthly price and have access.

A playoff ban and vacating/forfeiting of wins(including a state title runner up). Not the same exact scenario, but a local school here in Kentucky had this punishment a year or two ago for money issues and playing an illegal player.

@ Coach I have no seniors. It's a blessing and a curse. Year one will be rough but all of them will be returners the next year and should be much more comfortable with the system. Are there not any senior athletes at all? That's what you're recruiting for anyways!

Motivational Video Get info – email, phone number, twitter, facebook A little about me – my story Why I love football Why I am here Why we need you on the team Why not you? First competitors, then champions What we need to do to make that happen Why we need to work for it – it’s about he process Benefits of playing football for you personally Young guys will play often and early if they work for it Our system Summer Schedule Summer Practice Questions? I think the stuff above would be nice for a first meeting if you're also trying to recruit within the school, save the other stuff for the first team meeting.

Don't post often because I don't know much. I read all over though trying to learn. Trying to read the defense more but I just don't understand a lot of the terminology. Getting better though! My favorite one is probably the general board. Love reading how you all do things with your programs because my ultimate goal is to one day run my own program. Favorite threads are the face melter ones. Favorite blog is CoachBduds. Really need to read more of the offense and defense but school work comes first unfortunately. I've been coaching for 23 years, and the defensive boards here drive me crazy. Way too clique-y with program-specific terminology. I'm not trying to offend anyone by saying it, just trying to say "don't feel bad, it's not just you." Thank you that makes me feel better! They should make a slang book for people like me

I like this idea a lot. But, how do you adapt it to a school where a majority of your players are involved in winter & spring sports in the football offseason? Have the kids that aren't playing those sports go and support the ones that are if possible.
