What accounts should I follow if I have a twitter? James Light Coach Vint Coach Mike Rowe CoachesCollaborate Spread Offense That should get you started. I am sure I am missing a bunch too. I’ve been trying to learn Sabanese and overall secondary stuff this this offseason and Light’s account has been wonderful for that. I’d add @coachdubmaddox @coachgrayvold and from some of the accounts that the rest of these guys have mentioned you’ll find other coaches to learn from. I’m following a coach a day it feels like because I’ll see something retweeted that I like. Also listen to the joe Daniel football podcasts and the USA football podcasts by Coach Grabowski. If you do any sort of long commute Consistently these help big time.

I’m pretty sure the same thing happened with South Carolina’s QB, I’m not for sure if it’s exactly the same but I know he didn’t go to high school his senior year

Are crocks still a topic of discussion in 2017 (soon to be 18)? On the high school staff that the team I coached this past year feeds into the offensive coordinator has I believe 12 pairs of crocs.

I put my brother in a number 18 this year because I'm a big Peyton Manning fan and he was named after Eli, he hates it. I love it.
I don't know why I just don't like 1 or 19.

If you run it up on us running your base stuff that's completely fine.
We had a horror story of a 7th grade game the other day. 5 kids ineligible which left us with 12 kids. Lose one on the first kickoff, so we have 11. 3 of which are playing their normal positions. The team pounds us which is what I expected. But when it's the 4th quarter and they're trying to take shots downfield when they had thrown twice that game prior, calling timeouts, and onside kicking then I have a problem with that. Especially at this level when we're just trying to get these kids to the next level and not ruin their experience.

I could go into why I believe it, but I'll say that I think having a great pen is important, and gives a great impression when signing documents in person. It shows that you care, and it shows status. I'm about my reputation more than anything else, and something as stupid as using a crappy pen can subconsciously make people think less if you. No joke. Image is important in the long run.
The type of pen you use won't matter and your reputation-image will take a big hit when you become homeless.
"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. " John R. Wooden If my pen is going to make a person think less of me then that person isn't worth impressing.

If you or your staff wears shorts on the sidelines at a varsity football game, you have no credibility. You need not reply. Chuke Williams (Kentucky HS Coach) wore flip flops on the sidelines. They rolled people in the 90s. Who cares what you wear? I like to dress nice myself on the sideline but to say someone has "no credibility" because they don't wear pants on the sideline is ridiculous.

Have energy as a coach.
As far as practice things: competitive drills. At the end of the period have a best on best or an even matchup and have the team pick sides, losing side does up downs.

I asked our kids about some of these shoes at practice yesterday. They tried to give me up downs and sent me to offense. Seriously. LOL that's awesome. They're just shoes to tear up at practice. You don't need Jordans for that. Last year I wore some Nike Roshes and they weren't new but the kids thought they still looked good. It had rained all day and they were furious I had ruined them. I wear them every practice now. This thread is making me consider getting a couple cheap pair though to rotate.

my only concern about clothes racks is if they would hold the weight... We had a couple at my high school I believe and they held the weight. But I don't know the brand name or how much they cost. I'm assuming the more you pay the more it would hold. I've seen a few online through browsing that hold different weights from like 70-250 LBs.

I say some of these during conditioning, like "let's go" and others. But never "you gotta hittem boys!!", because of this forum I was able to avoid that in my first year last season.

The last school I was at we folded them and put them in Rubbermaid tubs. I had one for eligible numbers and one for OL numbers. At my new place we have a place to hang them. I would suggest this. If you didn't want to put them in totes, you can buy clothes racks with wheels that are fairly cheap I believe.

Bike shorts are back? Woo-hoo! I still have some. Trouble is they're from four schools and 30 pounds ago. Big wrestling meet this weekend?! Sure you can cut 30 pounds to drop into a lower weight class!

I'd have to trust someone A LOT of I was a HC to give up one side of the ball completely. I could see myself giving up play calling but I'd be very heavily involved in that side of the ball, likely running what I wanted.
But obviously the more you trust the person the more you allow them to do I guess. I won't know probably until I'm actually the HC. I can imagine calling both sides and special teams would be a headache
