I have a timer app on my phone and connect to a block rocker
I will play music and the timer at the same time
like others have said the down side is no visual to look at
if you are perfect on time/schedule it is no big deal, but every now and then you get so focused on something that it is like oh crap, did the horn blow? what period? am i on time or over time ? crap

Every time i have felt we were really deep at a position, we actually weren't. After a day or two the top kids really separate themselves.
Indy time is easy, you can always form another line or station or something to have more kids doing the drill.
What I do in the spring to get the most kids involved when we go TEAM is to use 2 groups. An A group and a B group essentially.
We go on Air The B team is 20-30 yards behind the A team. We signal the play in, A runs it while B watches (B kids can learn from watching A kids) then they get signal and run play right after. I script this so if i want to go faster to just to get the plays in, I will take the A, and our QB coach takes the B and we each focus on the group we are working with and just signal it all in and go.
We do this even if we dont have a full 11 in the group... For example we never have a ton of OL... that B group might have 3 or 4 OL if we have kids out... oh well imaginary tackle or guard lol

yourcallfootball.com is coming
Fans get 10 seconds to vote on one of 3 potential plays and the offense runs the play that gets the most votes... i think i will give it a try and watch a game when it comes out
why not

Sometimes you can find 5 panel footballs (most are 4 panel)
the 5 panel ball seems smaller/pointier than the 4 panel ones

I will add the biggest difference between the good guys and the bad guys is this
Good guy: do ABC and I will do XYZ to help you
Bad guy: Do ABC and i will do XYZ to help you, but don't listen to your HS coaches or workout with them... i know better, also transfer to INSERTnameHERE HS... they are better

i dont think there is anything you can do about it
it requires NOTHING but social media and some cones to call yourself a trainer or 7on7 coach -if they wanted paperwork you can get an online personal training certificate for probably $50 and 30 minutes of time
If anything the problem is just getting started and will only get worse
It doesn't mean every trainer or 7on7 guy is a bad dude... i know several who are good people who honestly care about the kids and want to help them. However the ones who aren't like this give the rest a bad rap.
I have noticed this year more and more twitter beef between HS coaches and the 7on7/training coaches

All the CA ones died off after they outlawed wearing gear in the summer killed camps which killed me I ran what i feel, was the best HS team camp in northern california With CA's start date at July 16th, non-mandatory contact practice, could we see camps pop up in late July? No, contact team camps have been banned since the rule change a few years ago... even after we get to wear gear in late July

my mind is blown by how many of you give actual protein powder to kids does your school district actually say this is fine? or is it a dont ask dont tell situation? Our superintendent uses it. To be honest I don't know why it would be such a big deal anywhere else? Most of our team uses it i use it it is all fine... i have just always been told that the school can not provide a supplement to a kid... even with parental approval we are actual required to tell a kid, when/if they ask us about supplement advice to "talk to their parents and their doctor about it" (i think that is too far and i give them real advice) but that is what we are supposed to do i 100% understand where you are coming from and i agree it is stupid, but it is the only thing i have ever heard any AD or administrator say regarding protein/supplements

Do you guys have some info about how to get the vending machine from Gatorade? A google search did no good. You need to get in direct contact with your local vendor. You will also need school district approval... from your nutrition department. Each state has different rules around it.

Ya I know the rules on the nutrition labels etc. I am hearing a lot about the gatorade deal, that is what I am going to look into. I also heard they will provide a vending machine for you. this is true... they will give you a vending machine i recommend this if you dont want to deal with money and you leave it out in some sort of central location the way they described it only fits certain sizes of their products what i did was get a free fridge from them i can now put anything i want in it (water, gatorade, protein shakes, whatever) Only because where i have it is inside of a locked office in the weight room... i couldnt leave it in the locker room. If i had the OK to put a vending machine in the locker room i wouldve just done that

i dont think you can give kids a "supplement" i know of coaches who have been fired for it
the work around is the gatorade protein shakes
they are not defined as a supplement, they are technically a "food" the back contains nutrition facts not supplement facts

I know it’s the craze and you can find a ton of cool videos on twitter but am I the only one who thinks 1 on 1s without pads isn’t worth the risk? it is stupid and wouldnt exist without these d@mn millennials and their instatwittergrams it is the most one sided drill in sports... it is really easy for a DL to rush the passer with no run threat/responsibility, they can line up in a wide 9000000 technique and they have nothign to grab on to also, they always say "no bull rush" but every clip i see almost always has a bull rush just once, i would love to see an OL show a pass set and CUT, blowing out the defender's knee/hopes/dreams I hate the camps that focus on these 1on1s and not on actual drill work to get better Rant over

Simplest addition scheme wise was an under center dive play
Added it this year... only thing we did under center
We put all the WRs to the left and went unbalanced (brought RT our best player over next to our LT.) if we were in 12/21 the FB/other TE lined up next to the unbalanced tackle on the left
Straight dive over B gap (hit outside a few times when defense collapsed inside and RB popped it
we ran this all year long on short yardage, in red zone, and at random times to just get a quick play in downhill now and catch the D off guard
we only got stopped 1 time. Otherwise we picked up a first down or TD on it... i dont recall the exact number but id say about 19/20 success rate if not higher
one word tempo call we lined up and ran as fast as we possibly could

Seeing on Twitter that some schools are already practicing and even doing stuff with other teams. We’re not going to start until spring ball in May. Curious to see what others are doing. I think practicing this early is counter productive. I am seeing a lot of the same We follow the rules... there is a team in our league who has their own 7on7 team ... which isnt allowed... but somehow they are doing it anyway

Our school system doesn't allow us to distribute protein powder or any type of supplements, but was curious what type of success some of you have had with providing "snacks" and things like that post-workout, before practice, or just throughout the day, in general. Our players all have 1st period weight training. They all receive a chocolate milk after leaving for post-workout nutrition. However, I am not sure a ton of them eat breakfast early in the morning before workouts. So technically, they only drink chocolate milk for breakfast and post-workout nutrition. We also know, most school systems don't provide enough calories in the school lunches for all the activity our players are exerting. I've heard of programs that have made their players come get a banana and/or granola bar in addition to their lunch. Also have heard something like that being offered as pre-practice nutrition. Has anybody ever had moms or booster club people make PB&J sandwiches for the players to consume after workouts? Was thinking about doing this and making every player eat PB&J in addition to their chocolate milk after their workouts. We provide PB, jelly and bread for our players to come get any time throughout the day. However, I am not sure that we are doing a good enough job suggesting they utilize this more than they are. That is on us. So any of you have things you do to help your players with providing calories for your players? i get Milk/Chocolate milk left overs from snack program attached to our after school program I used to do PBJ sandwhiches for the boys... i was spending $100 a week on food for them and i just got tired of paying for it and them making a mess so i stopped doing it One way you might be able to get around the idea of protein shakes is to buy the gatorade whey shakes from a gatorade rep... you can get them at a great deal... and the rep said they get away with selling them to High Schools because they arent labeled as a supplement. On the back of their shakes and bars they say " nutrition facts" (like food) not "supplement facts" (like protein shakes) The deal they set up with schools is $145 (157 with taxes/shipping) 120 shakes 120 bars Sell them for a dollar and you make enough money back to keep buying more and occasionally give a kid one for free as a reward/prize She provided me a list of schools in our area who were buying these and giving them to their players and i double checked it with those coaches, prior to ordering them The only down side is they take about 3 weeks to actually get to us once i order (they have my credit card on file so i just email them when i want more) SO i usually just order well in advance of running out

I wish we had a 6 quarter rule in CA but we are more likely to become the first state to ban football, than add more quarters of football for a kid in a week

The "best fundraiser you ever did" thread got me thinking about getting rid of the middle man and doing my own discount card
Looking for advice from anyone on here who has done this? I found a website of a company to print them up
but HOW did you go about getting places to participate? Just call everyone? Go in and visit managers?
Any tips would be awesome

Looks like a good line up. I am really excited to see Coverdale speak.
I would love to get to meet any of you huey members who will be there. I am hoping to enjoy the social aspects of this clinic.

easiest one is Chipotle night If you have one near you... you can set it up online www.chipotle.com/fundraisersyou set it up in advance... pick a night... they send you a flyer you just need a Tax ID number. During that evening any one who comes in and says they are supporting XYZ Fb team... chipotle donates half their bill back to you HALF! most places it is like 10-20% I go to the chipotle by our school once a week anyway... i know all the workers because i go so often... they started just hitting the fundraising button on the cash register with like every customer it took me all of 10 minutes to set up And i put out a few tweets/IG posts about it we made $2500 off of it and it took no work and no selling anything people love chipotle and it gave everyone an excuse to eat out and support the team
