What could possibly upset them? Not getting picked at the 1st place. Interrupting their time 2nd place. No Teacher Left Behind.

If the Lane Train showed up it would be awesome. I'm hoping for some kind of WWE style surprise entrance... Bah Gawd that's Lane Kiffin's music!

There may be a couple too many voices in the room with 6. Maybe drop Fedora and the moderator and let Applewhite be the moderator for the other 4.

I watched the first game on the coaches' channel. Patterson dominated the conversation and sounded like he was mostly giving his scout on Oklahoma's offense, especially early. Bert was good, he should be an analyst if he doesn't land somewhere. Best part was on the last play the TB had taken maybe 2 steps and one of them called it and said he may score.

Just don’t bring that Tuscalooser sign to our games. Didn’t go well for either team. Lol Interesting question and I don’t know the answer. Isn’t that a question for the cheer coach? My 'Buck Fama' bumper sticker is in all orange lettering and it looks fine to me.

Tennessee hired a coach, then they didn't. Then they almost hired one, but didn't. Then they hired another one, but didn't. Then they tried to hire another one, but didn't. Then they offered one, but didn't hire him. Then they hired a new AD. Still no coach.
But you probably knew all this, it's just been a week.

On the visitor's sideline of where we played tonight the team box went to the 20 yard line on one end. Midway through the 3rd quarter the ref throws a flag and penalizes us with a sideline infraction for being too far down the field when one of my assistants was standing at the 21, but inside the lines of the box. So yeah, there's that.

You got 4 people in a 2 bedroom apartment and can't cut the rent. While you have an outgo problem, you're biggest issue is your income. And that's not gonna change til you quit finding reasons you can't do this job or that job and just go to work. There's jobs out there, be willing to go do one for a while until you get it under control. You can do anything (menial jobs, multiple jobs) for a year or 2, as long as you have a plan and a goal (budget, debt free life). Just go do it brother.

Our trainers have been great about this. We use a 5 stage return to play protocol, that once a player is asymptomatic they go through 5 steps of increasing effort/activity to get cleared to play. They have worked hard to communicate with our local doctors and have gotten good response so we don't get kids just sitting out for a week or 2 when they could be back quicker, or need to be held out longer. We also use the Sway app for baseline testing and helping diagnose issues.

If you're just leasing it for a bit, it doesn't have to be perfect. Nothing parties like a rental.

People with prison numbers for handle identification need not reply. Just sayin' In TEXAS going by a prison type number is really cool in TEXAS because in TEXAS that's how we do it in TEXAS. Try not going by a TEXAS prison number in TEXAS and see how seriously you get taken in TEXAS because in TEXAS that's what TEXANs do in TEXAS. So apparently we are in the sweet spot for the eclipse on Monday and instead of burning our little children's eyes out because the teachers can't supervise everyone and make sure their glasses are on they decided to cancel school and let the families handle it on their own. To be able to call school off for the day they had to classify it as a bad weather day which is a system wide shut down. No games or practice or any extra curricular activities. So yeah, no Monday practice and we play on Tuesday.

When I was playing my junior year, our OL coach was an absolute legend in the area, and being as such, he was old as dirt. Loved him to death. One day after practice, our scout offense did a good job against our starting defense. Coach gives me a five dollar bill and says "Take the scout OL out for milkshakes on me." We ended up sharing that one milkshake lmao.

Saw a team once that had a player with an ineligible number on his jersey and an eligible number they could velcro on when they needed it. I didn't see it up close, just from the stands, but it had to be some heavy duty velcro.

One of the best things we ever bought was a Speed Queen triple loader commercial washer and dryer set. Could wash the whole teams game or practice gear in a couple loads.

We average 40 players for a given year, last year had 45, went undefeated and won our conference. This year we currently have 25 guys in pads, roughly half 7th grade and half 8th grade. Inconsistent attendance, don't know how to work, and don't seem too willing to learn. But it's my job to teach them so there's that.

We use Team App. Has all our info on it from practice to game schedules and you can push notifications out with it. Biggest issue is people not signing up for it.

I usually stick my game plan in a sheet protector and put it in my pocket. When the game is over I remember I have a game plan in my pocket.

I wear New Balance turf shoes, I think they're usually made for baseball. Current pair is the 4040v3. They have some grip for being on the field, but still a soft rubber sole I can wear around inside.

We go full pads every day in girdles and volleyball knee pads. We also schedule as much full contact as we're allowed to. They're teenage football players, in general they love going out and running into each other. We'll do a couple of intense tackling or board type drills each week because the ones that love the game love testing themselves against each other in that stuff.
Every couple of weeks we also schedule a big live team period where we just let them scrimmage each other, just our offense against our defense and let them go play the game. Their chances to just play are limited anyway to a few games a year. They spend the majority of the off season doing things to get ready to play instead of actually playing the game, and the majority of practice is drill or scheme work, so we try to give them a chance to get out and have fun. It gives the ballers a chance to ball out, the newer guys get some good reps, and the hot dog eaters get to stand in the back and squirt each other with the water bottles and not get in anybody's way.

Had a kid 6 years ago that was in the best shape of anyone on the team. Come to find out he was smoking 2 packs a day. Once he asked to go pee. I told him wait 5 minutes until practice is over. He then proceeded to piss his pants on purpose which started a chain reaction of some other players pissing thier pants. It was like billy madison. Out of the 10 kids in that senior class 7 of them where on probation and id have them all back on a second if i could lol. These groups are always the best teams to coach.

I'm sure this topic has come up a bunch but I'm hoping people won't mind rehashing it. I'm fortunate to have friends who play some serious big boy football and they've become friends with a national powerhouse and at my request they set me up so I can visit with this powerhouse this summer. I'm nervous as f***! Like, I'm overthinking every interaction like I'm trying to get a date with Marissa Miller. "Don't come on too strong, play it cool, don't let them know how excited you are..." My big questions (never really visited like this before): 1-how do you say "I want to know everything about running your offense" without wearing out your welcome? 2-I'm totally willing to do some kind of grunt work trade for their help, is this a standard deal? I feel like a jack ass just showing up empty handed. I dunno. Socially awkward me strikes again.

I don't even run the test through the scantron anymore, the program I use gives the kids and me the feed back immediately, and the grade is automatically added to the grade book. One of my buddies holds the answer sheet up in front of the camera mounted on the computer in his classroom to grade his tests. is that how scantron works now?

I've got pile of leftover cleats from easily the past decade that keeps growing because I don't want to tackle it. Come get 'em and you can have 3/4 of them. Plenty of better stuff to spend your money on, and if you have a locker room it shouldn't take too long to build up your own stock pile.
You can get pinnies from football america for a couple bucks each IIRC.
Chutes depends on how solid you want/need them to be. I've laid a pvc frame across a couple sawhorses in the past.
Hand shields and agility bags will cost you, we have a lot of the half round bags as they can be either.
