Assuming a full indoor field is not feasible, much space would you actually need or an indoor to be useful?

Feasible to do what, I guess.

Half a field? For a couple years, all we had was half of a field outside before we moved to a different practice field.

To me.. length isn't as important as width of field, assuming you have enough space to make a choice.

Feasible to do what, I guess. Speed and agility training, drills, some team/throwing

Width makes sense, I was talking about this today (proposal is going out) and requested full width and anywhere fro 30-50 yards long...did say if we could go 2/3s regular field width it’s not ideal but could still be useful
Next question, what height to be able to throw?

To me.. length isn't as important as width... You ain't the only one... The one they built here last year is full width and 30 yds deep. It's fine, but 10 more yards would be a huge improvement, imo. Not worth giving up the full field width tho.

From a financial perspective... having a 2/3rds width doesn't' seem to make much sense if you have access to a school gym. I would be honest, if it is a money thing, I would see if they could wait until they can at least make something that will be worth the money.

We are currently constructing one through our school system. I didnt get much say in dimensions but ours is basically from hash to sideline in width 2/3 size as stated. Though not idea we will have enough space to get some full speed work run game and intermediate to short passing game with modifications. With the turf surface compared to gym floor this is more usable. I think the production in times we need to go inside bc of weather etc will be better than a gym practice. Plus we have to wait on volleyball to finish practice in these situations in the fall. Big thing is our weight training will be head quartered there so we can do agility work/ strength work all under the same roof.

Just for agility and drills you can make do with whatever. A school here filled in a pool that needed lifesaving repairs. It’s too small to do any skelly or team but it does the trick. There’s another field that’s about 50m by 25 or so. It’s *barely* big enough to do skelly, if we’re careful with the space. 5m more in each direction would help a lot.
For height - a 45 yard pass at a 45 degree launch angle will peak at 33’, plus say 6’ for the QB makes 40’
If you can sell it to whoever is paying, a more-than-full width by about 35 yd length field fits sideways into a 200m indoor track.
