I know this has been a thread before but I not going to lie, I'm horrible at using the search on this site.
My head coach wanted me to reach out to my cyber coaches online to get some ideas for our slogan, mantra, motto, etc. for our T-shirts.
Anything emphasizing team, self-sacrifice, etc, etc.
Thanks for any ideas!

"Win The Last Game". think about it... the team that I took over this summer had done that 3 out of the 4 years before I got here. They were 4-36

The key is to do what works for your team. See the above post "win the last game" for a team that was 4-36.
One's teams I've coached in the past were -I'm In - sounded an awful lot like Amen so some kids were naturally confused -No Huddle No Mercy - started huddling halfway through the year but kept the motto -Hustle Hit and Never Quit - stole it from a Volleyball team but probably my favorite -Always Earned...never given
and my all time favorite We are (town name), We are One - we chant this as we walk on to opposing teams fields before warm up. Reminds them and the their fans who we are, where are are from, and what we are about.

Did you do any sort of year end survey with your player, ala coachfore.org/2012/04/19/377/Do you have captains, or a leadership counsel or anything like that? Those are probably good sources for brainstorming what particular message will connect with your particular team

I have coached with teams who "accomplished" this method of winning the last game twice!

What kind of community do you live in? Is it one that’s very proud of its town? I saw a team near us that started putting their zip code on everything. Got lots of community buy in.

Maybe I just have a bad brain, but I've always thought it would be funny to make a shirt that reads "DO THE THING" instead of "JUST DO IT".

Missouri's championships used to be held in the dome in St. Louis. The best pre-season shirt I ever saw was "There's No Place Like Dome"

Look into PJ Fleck... He has a billion acronym's the he uses in his program. One example: F.A.M.I.L.Y. = Forget About Me I Love You

Sloganizing makes me queasy. I just saw Clemson’s staff at a clinic. They said they had more acronyms for than any team in the country. That stuff is cool when you are on the top and cheesy when you aren’t. Miami’s sideline bling is revolutionary when they lead the nation in takeaways but repulsive of they would have ended up with a negative margin and a 500 record. At the same clinic Clemson was at South Carolina’s DC said they had done the same Tennessee takeaway trash can dunks but no one knew because their managers forgot to bring the trash cans to the game. Then Tennessee embarrassed themselves with it so he told his guys they would have had to find something else. With all of this stuff if it helps kids bring energy then it’s a good way to emphasize key fundamentals and philosophies. But if you can’t sell these things or don’t invest In them then they are just useless gimmicks.

Uhhh...if you don't make the playoffs, its because you didn't win your last game! I can't tell if you're joking or not. That's apparent. If you're fighting for a playoff spot, win the last game and you're in. When you're in the playoffs, win the last game and you're the champion.

You might get a cease and desist from Bill Belichick, but I think "Do your Job" really says it all. It's not cheesy, it's not over the top, and really covers it everything. Work your fundamentals everyday, Take care of your academic responsibilities, Help lift up your teammates. Don't go over the top. Just emphasize the little things that you need to get the job done, and great things will happen.

Wisconsin Badgers motto for this upcoming year, "No one cares, work harder" Coming off their best season in program history, they do not want anyone getting complacent. Follows along the lines of the Brian Kight Focus 3, "Doesn't matter, get better" It all depends on your cultural mindset. Do you talk about winning in your program? Do you focus on the outcome or the process? If all you talk about as a coaching staff is the process and then have a motto about the outcome, you are going to lose your team as they will think you are full of it.

My head coach wanted me to reach out to my cyber coaches online to get some ideas for our slogan, mantra, motto, etc. for our T-shirts. Anything emphasizing team, self-sacrifice, etc, etc. Thanks for any ideas! I have used a number of concepts, terms, and language from various military sources I've read and observed. I'm not a military guy, but I love how it motivates. One of my favorite season quotes was taken from the military: "FOR THE MAN ON MY LEFT AND THE MAN ON MY RIGHT." I also use a term that I stole from Pat Fitzgerald from NU, who stole it from military (in particular, special forces): "EMBRACE THE SUCK" ......it's one of my favorite things to say. It covers quite a bit.
