Teach it right....the kids do it right, or we do it again!
Nothing wrong with "Great Expectations!"
What you tolerate, you encourage!!
You have to give them credit, when credit is due though. That won't make them soft Coach. Respect goes both ways.
Good luck Coach. Have a great year!

I have heard that it is rather unique!!

Play slow and practice smart!! Care to explain how to do that, coach? "Play slow" -- Develop an efficient running game, and use all of the clock between plays while on offense. "Practice Smart" -- Minimize (or eliminate) full contact work during Team segments of practice, we know that most practice injuries happen here. Develop a sound kicking game. Play sound/solid defense. Maximize the use of opponent tapes from video exchange in order to game plan for the best possible physical match-ups on game night.

This has been a part of St. John's University Coach John Gagliardi's philosophy for years, and they have been very successful!!

In 2009, the HFC at a 6A Florida HS (Largest Classification) ran both offense and defense. They lost in the State Championship game.

Use your normal work week as a model....start from game day and work backward to develop the "weekly" plan.

You may be refering to Mitch Browning's excellent presentation at the 2007 COOL Clinic. He was the O-Line Coach at the Univ. of Minnesota under Glen Mason.

All of the following JC's/Comm. Colleges have football programs: Grand Rapids, MI has a very good program. Some JC's in the Chicago area: College of DuPage, Joliet, and Harper Iowa JC's (all of the FB playing JC's in Iowa have on-campus housing): Iowa Central, Ellsworth, and Iowa Western You may want to check: www.njcaa.org (website for National Junior College Athletic Association)

Very interesting thread! Of the above posts, when you reference watching yourself, are you including time spent watching your practice tapes? Or, are you just talking about previous game tapes?

When taking over at a new school, and you have an opportunity to select your entire staff, what are the most important qualities that you look for in the selection process?

To get all of the info that you need, go to the NCAA website: www.ncaa.org Then go to publications. Regarding the situation that your refer to concerning you son's transfer...the 4-2-4 rule will apply. Each Division has unique rules. To be eligible to participate in D-I immediately he will be required to earn an Associate Degree at the Community College.

The degree of difficulty of the skill being taught, paired with the innate abilities of the athlete are major factors in determining the answer to this question.

Most states that do have Juco Football really limit the number of out-of-state players that they can have on their roster. Thus, most are looking for D-I talent to fill those out-of-state spots.
I don't believe the Minnesota JC's have out-of-state limits.

Are there any colleges currently running the Delaware Wing-T? NCAA D-II or D-III, or NAIA?

Decorah ran an unbalanced line "Wing-T" during those years. It is not the Delaware system. This offensive system was originally developed by Harold Tackelson, the legendary coach at Burlington H.S. Some of Coach Weust's staff members became HFC's in Iowa and ran the same system, with tremendous success. (one of them was Warren Woepking at Columbus Jct. H.S.)
