Coaches,
We are a 6A high school with a small budget that is looking to get something to film an endzone view of both practice and games with. We are in a rural community in tennessee, with very few businesses and not much parent support. We have tried to get paint scaffolding but that seems to have fallen through. We have thought about scissor lift but can't afford it and can't find a company willing to loan or donate one. We really cannot afford an endzone camera system right now "skyhawK" etc. perhaps in the future. Is there anybody out there who has anything for sale? or any suggestions. We either need something safe on both the practice field and game field or something that is mobile back and forth. Any suggestions, thoghts, or ideas are welcome. .......

We have a tree stand (not as tall as the one in Coach Knight's photo) mounted on top of my truck.

at the very worst, a standard ladder will work, or film from the back of a pickup truck (all things we've done in the past). It sucks, but its better than nothing.
For a 6A school, though, you ought to have some money to kick around.
Also, if you can access a stadium / bleachers, just film from the stands with the offense coming out of the sideline.

We got a 15 foot ladder and bungey corded a square piece of plywood on the top to give the tripod some where to stand. That was used in practice. In the games we only had the pressbox shot. In our county you can only use the flagpole cam in the endzone you cannot use cherry pickers or scffolding.

See if you can borrow the scissor lift from your school's maintenance dept. If not, I'm sure they have a 14-16 ft step ladder. (Note: always be good to the maintenance guys - you need'em on your side. We're always sure to treat them well and supply them with plenty of team apparel.)

How about this? "Gee Elmar what happened to our Dear Stand? " Look at it this way, you are saving a poor Dears life and if you get caught, call PETA and tell them of you woes. PS don´t forget to paint it the Schools Colors... the Elmar and the Guy´s maybe fans.

We bought a 14' deer stand for $280.00 at a local Outdoor Sports store. It works great and it's cheap. Also very easily movable.

Also very easily movable. If it is "VERY MOVABLE" your are probably going to have to lock it up each night. or someone may "borrow" yours!!
