For no good reason other than I am curious b/c I lived in NE Iowa for some time can someone tell me... when Decorah was on its state title run (1987, 88, 89) what did they do on offense and defense?

Decorah defeated Manchester West Delaware last night 16-14. The Cedar Rapids Gazette article this morning said that Decorah is running the same offense it has run for the last 40 years- the wing-t.

Decorah ran an unbalanced line "Wing-T" during those years. It is not the Delaware system. This offensive system was originally developed by Harold Tackelson, the legendary coach at Burlington H.S. Some of Coach Weust's staff members became HFC's in Iowa and ran the same system, with tremendous success. (one of them was Warren Woepking at Columbus Jct. H.S.)
