I'm curious why some feel that if a person hasn't been personally wronged or oppressed that they are then not qualified to speak or act out against what they regard to be oppression of others? Don't we try like crazy to teach young people to speak up when they see something wrong, stand up against bullying, etc.? I'm not saying police are bullies, don't take it that way. But I don't get the logic at all when people say things like "Kaepernick has never been oppressed so he shouldn't be talking about it." There's a difference between speaking up and looking for attention. A lot of young people see individuals do it on TV and never actually look into the issues, they just mimic the behavior for attention.

I find it interesting that people actually care about how much credibility you have based off of appearance. Who the hell cares, if my team shows up and kicks your teams ass that's all the credibility we need.

Change for the worse is not worth embracing. It's enabling. Then make an adjustment and figure out a way to accomplish your goals with the kids you get. Sure this generation has fallacies, but that's every single generation that has come through the wire.

Sell your private loans to a credit union, way way lower interest rates. I went through Lendkey, they're really awesome about it

While I disagree, I disagree for a different reason.
We currently live in a culture where people think the longer you do something, the better it's going to get. Lot of people waste time and claim they are "grinding."

Dad was a Head Coach, been my dream since I could say football to be a header.
I think it's been a big time help having seen all the things he dealt with and how he dealt with them successfully which has prepped me to take a job in the near future.

I rage irrationally about twitter coaches and the twitter coach lifestyle up to and including tweeting quotes then not putting who actually said the stinking thing...so the tweet will read "everybody has a plan until they get hit"...or..."I have a dream today!"..but then won't say anything else..no - Mike Tyson or - Martin Luther King Jr other twitter coaches set up scenarios on their team for the purposes of tweeting about it....like the guy who made all of the assistant coaches wear cat t-shirts...so he could tweet pictures about how they all wore cat shirts, like "man look at what our crazy/silly staff gone and did right?"...but in real life it was mandatory and not fun at all, guys had to so spend their own money on a stupid t-shirt i'm all for managing the perception of your program, it's downright necessary...but when you're making everybody else's life miserable to make yourself look good on social media, your probably just being a jerk. I'd rather just have them watch and tell you something they learn. To make something homework doesn't seem very fun to me.

Any info on the Wisconsin Clinic? I'm a Yooper (Western...3 miles from WI) so basically everything in Wisconsin is closer than anything in downstate Michigan. JVD Do you teach at East UP High, or West UP High? Fellow Yooper here as well!

Minneapolis Glazier & NDSU for sure. NDSU does a great job. They treat high school coaches very well & the beer, brats, & pork sandwiches never seem to run out at the coaches' social. Decent price as well. Considering the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association clinic. I've heard they have top notch local speakers & it falls on a weekend (March 23-25) that I don't anticipate any conflicts. Can confirm this is a good clinic. Source: From Wisconsin

I've never understood the coaches that can't get stuff done within a reasonable manner. If it takes you hours upon hours to do simple tasks, then you aren't efficient or you need to learn time management. Football isn't some new innovative game, get what you need to done and get moving.

I would love complete breakdowns (reads, keys, drills, etc) for 1) LB reads vs zone in a 34 look 2) Secondary man coverage (press and catch technique) I just actually created a whole clinic presentation on press technique that I'd be willing to share

Is it a travesty of the game or playing within the rules?
I know, for example, end of the game if I want to take a safety, I would tell every single player on that field to hold their rear ends off to allow for as much time to run off the clock for the game to end.
The swiping of the ball is bush league and should be a rule introduced to prevent that.

Sarcasm on the wonderful winters, these things suck.

People need to realize that this is HS football. There's kids that will go play college football, there's kids that will be great HS players, and there are kids that just want to be around the guys/have something to be a part of. Expecting every single kid to want to play every single down is just not ever going to happen. Would we all like that as coaches? Sure. But to think that this is true will keep the average man up all night dreaming.

It really is... Like I get a laugh at these guys with all these giant play cards. Half those plays won't get touched all year, no point. It's not the size of your play card it's how you use it I think I've heard that about something else in life as well...

I know guys on this board love to fear the visor wearers with the facemelter but I now have a great fear of the guy who clips his call sheet to his belt loop! At least half the oc's we've played this year do this and they're all the young, hip, facemelting types One of the sports talking heads said that Ben McAdoo's call sheet was as big as a Denny's menu. It really is... Like I get a laugh at these guys with all these giant play cards. Half those plays won't get touched all year, no point.

Only the OP said anything about not liking watching "hours and hours of film," and I don't recall seeing his team's record posted anywhere.
Also watching film is not the same as inputting data from the game.
I understand where wisco is coming from though. It's a matter of attention to detail. We never tagged data before this year. We didn't even have hudl until 2 years ago. Our new HC is a Hudl Whoooer. We film and tag everything. It really comes in handy for the scouting reports hudl spits out. We've picked up on some very credible tendencies of our opponents that may not have been caught if we scouted and did reports the "old fashion" way. This. If you listen to any great coach, no detail is too important to gloss over. By not breaking down your film and tagging it, you may yourself miss tendencies that your team/other teams have. Not wanting to bag on how anyone does it, our way is not perfect in any sense either. But if teams want to be great, the little things have to be done correct as well, and this is one of them.
