I use pinnacle, real pain in the rear Sure you can add text to any clip- No way to Tag/store/search- We spend 100s of hours on pinnacle doing what it takes us just a handfull of hours on Hudl. If I value my time at even $2 an hour going the Hudl route makes sense. Dave, Did you try Hudl out this last year? I remember you saying you used something else, but I don't remember it being pinnacle. Did you change?

can you deduct time? by this I mean if you go to a clinic can you charge an hourly rate for your time and then deduct it from your taxes? I do not think so. I know its a fickle thing.. my CPA goes through a bunch of stuff with me and I remember some of it.. I would recommend seeing one but you want a good one. I have heard stories of many cpa's missing quite a bit, the good news is they can go back and find mistakes from previous years and fix them. But on the other hand if they are good they are probably expensive. If they are younger maybe not as expensive but find one that loves it like you love football. My CPA gets all pumped and excited when he finds deductions or loopholes. I googled tax deductions these came up: www.kiplinger.com/features/archives/the-mostoverlooked-tax-deductions.htmlwww.msnbc.msn.com/id/34961179/ns/business-personal_finance/one says job-hunting not tax deductible, but I swear I remember something this year for my wife... (there could have been a special tax cedit/deduction because of the economy.) Maybe find a Forum like hueys for taxes and ask some questions... I used to do them myself but it got to be too much of a hastle

I have seen in some playbooks (maybe defensive Books) a list of formations/ personnel groupings and what they call them specific to the team. Many are a common terms for the formation. For instance PRO or BUNCH, DOUBLES. It's more about personnel, and what the defense needs to do to adjust but it may help. Just don't call a Jet (fly, speed) sweep a reverse.... Us coaches hate that. but from your name i think you know

What if you were traveling to Florida for an "interview"? With a letter saying so, could you deduct the trip? Yes, I believe you can deduct job search expenses.

I personally believe we should tax the poor more. it would be a strong force to move them out of poverty. ben franklin warned about making the poor to comfortable in their poverty. I believe we should use the death penalty on tax frauds for a first offense and go back to the pre-80s tax brackets. =) To quote George HW Bush: Voodoo Economics. If our company did not have to pay as much in taxes the money saved would go directly to growing the business. Example: New CNC machine (operator) or Invest in producing our own product to replace buying from overseas (Injection molds made and produced... New product brings more money in to company, more to sell, larger sales force, service, manufacturing all equals more jobs) nothing voodoo about it.

How about if she was a player's mom? Since when is a poor single mom who is stripping to support their family have enough discretionary money to donate to a football program? I got news for you... Many strippers make a boatload of money... and they are not scrapping by. Its a big business... So what if a stripper mom or dad even wanted to donate? Hey I want to buy that sled for the program?

If there is no name posted up and its just a donation... why not? Are you going to ask every parent who donates how they make their money? Is the club a legal business? Advertising is a different story

Well guys.. was asked to resign the other day... reason's started off as being because I was not committed to the program by not moving to the area.. Is this the same guy that told you he had a spot for your wife and then reneged on it? Where, if she did have a spot you guys would have moved closer? Sounds like, from all the posts, he was a serious Douche... When a door is closed... Many times it opens up different doors or opportunities you may have never thought of. Good Luck

Also Rolle was considered a 1st round draft pick if he would have gone pro last year. The fact that he fell to the 6th 7th round this year had EVERYTHING to do with him being a Rhode Scholar. This is a case where a guy was penilized because of his High Character and Educational goals. He has made it clear multiple times that his priorities were to be an NFL player now and 10 years down the road he wants to be a doctor. I think he fell because of his 40 time and a year away from football, I don't remember hearing he was a top 10 talent though... I thought I heard 3rd rounder. Anyway they are talking heads, right? If they were claiming top 10 they were doing it for effect, at the time. Personally I would have graded him up because of the Rhodes scholar, don't we all want "Smart" ball players who are rested and healthy? I don't think it's any different for NFL teams

In our youth league (14 cities), each runs a spring camp in the month of may=no pads. (May is also HS spring football, pads/contact, FL), some cities will run Flag football in the off season... not sure if they are combined with the football program or are a separate entity, but I believe some are...

There have been some great posts in this thread. (coachcb, Dave Cisar, to name a few) But there was something earlier said that has me thinking, it was about preparing players for the next level. Now I do believe as coaches', youth (myself 12-13) and High school, if a player wishes or has the ability to play at the next level, we should do everything we can to help them achieve that. But it can not come at the expense of "what ¡s best for the team". The 1- 8 who could go on are not anymore important then the 30-60 you are leading. Picking a system because 1 or 2 kids to may able to play in college sounds a bit odd (plus if they can play they will be found more often then not). That ¡s like saying these colleges running spread offences are hurting there kids because they don't run NFL pro style offense. If your goal is to send as many kids on your team to college then work on their grades, make it a priority (it should be anyway) Yes teach great fundamentals, blocking and tackling, how to get off blocks, pursuit, ect... I think this is all part of the statement below and winning comes with it, if done correctly (and some talent helps ) ---The purpose of extra curricular sport is to teach teamwork, discipline, work ethic, sportsmanship, humility, honor, self-esteem, achieving goals, among other things, while having fun in the process. They are kids for a short time in their lives, help them make the most of it. "All of them" I hope that came out the way I meant, I am not trying to come after anyone, and I am not saying that winning is not important. Just that the only system that realy maters, is the overall one, put in place to achieve the purpose stated above.

I think that Semipro could be an avenue for that, but I fave never heard of someone making it from that.
I see what you are saying Air, you could have a 16 HS drop out, the kid who messed up bad and when to jail for a year or two ect... Many atheletes who can play never get past there shopmore year of HS, Graduating because of poor choices, bad grades, whatever. The question is what kind of element do they bring to this "developmental league" and how do you disipline? You could be playing with fire
But it could be that second chance one young man may need

Alright I'll ask Whats with the huge ocho cinco signature? What about it? Alright guys, thanks for your input I reall appreciate it! it just really big. To your question... Our youth league about two years ago hired a company to provide film of all the games to the teams... you would get a DVD of your game and your next weeks opponint. 15 citys 7 teams in each. Make sure that you provide what you say... you can't make mistakes like missing film, whatever. The company never finished the season because they didn't take into acount all the money involved and the people hired out to do the filming of some game were not as good as others. Make sure your orginized and people are trained.

1) You aren't going to throw uncovered every play. You're receiver is going to get crushed when our corner, safety and linebacker all converge on him, and he probably isn't going to catch the 2nd or 3rd one. It isn't an "easy" throw and catch. If the receiver stands at the line, he has no momentum on the catch, limiting his ability to get yards. If he jogs off the line, now you have to throw it over lineman. You're also going to end up giving us 6 points on the play. By either scaring the receiver, making the QB throw it over a lineman, rushing the QB (again, fear) or the reality of the execution level (and yes, this even applies at the varsity level) you're going to throw one too high, or it's going to get tipped/bobbled and we're taking it for 6. Uncovered is a hollow threat.
Coach, Above is a last with the chalk type thing. For example if your Safety, corner and outside linebacker are converging on the uncovered receiver, that might make you susceptible to a draw, or a fake quick to the wide receiver and a throw to the slot who is faking the stalk then running deep. The quick hitch to the WR we call "smoke" (stole from coachdoug) is not an all the time thing and is usually called when the opposing team is not aggressive toward the receiver.
The question is can you be successful running a spread system at the 11-12 yr old age group. The answer is yes, if you can teach the kids correctly. Many on this site and others have done it successfully, for championships, winning records ect.... Many also have not and failed trying. Many have coached I, power I, SW, DW, Wing-t, grab-bag, ect... Successfully for championships and winning records ect... Many also have not and failed trying.

oguru, believe or not I was a Packer fan before Mike got the job and could not believe that he forgot who I was and Salem is not even on his resume. I will be a Packer Fan when he and TT are gone. Go Pack Go! My point is he has made it and even if he gets the boot he will coach somewhere. Not bad for a cop's son from Pittsburgh. Top Row, #2 Wheres your pic? Poorbob, I will also say don't state how smart you are, let others form that opinion for themselves
