Mental toughness. Not treating good teams the same way you treat bad teams. Being intimidated?
Or injury hits just when the schedule got tough.

If you have a 10 game regular season with 11 weeks to schedule 10 games why would you only want to play 9 games? There is a large school in my state this year who is only playing 9 games with 2 bye weeks the next 2 years. In my opinion this is cheating the kids. Cheating them of playing time. Cheating them of opportunity to play the greatest game on earth.

[glow=red,2,300]Ive been here before.[/glow] Meet with each guy individually before you do as a group. Explain the program you are trying to build. If they come up with excuses why it can't be done get rid of them. You need people who find a way, not an excuse. After you decide who you want to keep & who wants to stay have a staff meeting and move forward. Amen brother no excuses.

Offense-put the defense in conflict. Run/pass, right/left, inside/out, horizontal/vertical. Defense-attack the offense. Take away 3 best things they do.

It is my job to teach character and that sets me appart from other coaches. I have a well designed program that we have implemented at our school and it is very satisfying to see the progress of young men. Certain administrators and parents on hiring committees are impressed, I think the profession is slowly moving toward more character education.

Lone Oak had big protection problems today and got beat in the championship game. Down 35-0 at half.
Trinity/Coverdale wins today over rival St.X in overtime 34-28.

Juco transfer Chris Todd is coming in as well. He has run the Franklin System since his Sophomore year in High school. Originally went to Texas Tech, not a runner but probably an upgrade over Brandon Cox who played most of the game tonight.

What Auburn has that Kentucky did not is a defense.

Kentucky apparently is like arkansas. Association does new districts every 2 years based on geography and enrollment. You play those teams and schedule your own non-district.

I used to love Bob Stoops and his "NO Excuses" motto. Now it appears OU has underachieved since his 2nd year Championship. What happened?
