Martz mismanaged the last minute of the game. Singletary mismanaged the press conference: you cannot throw Martz under the bus. Say "we" or "I", made a mistake.

They have gotten away from it the last few years at georgetown, but they were a machine with it a few short years ago.

A la carte offenses are not as succesful for a variety of reasons. I am a system guy. I am a simplicity guy. Reps on schemes. The more schemes the less reps you get. The more you are a la carte the more grab bag your play calling will be. A system is a systematic way to attack and a framework for language and blocking schemes or route combos etc. Blending styles together is a recipe for not being good at either.

Tony will be finished in college football I guess. The only guy who believes in him is Blakeny at Troy. Does he go back to only consulting with system teams?

Do you give any credence to the theory that a pass first offense will lead to an inability to play defense? Especially stopping inside/power running game.

My philosophy is I'll coach my team and you coach yours. You need not get angry over the fact that you want to control another guys substitution patterns.

I have 2 pieces of evidence to present to the prosecution.
Exhibit A: Auburn had the players to run it in the bowl. Exhibit B: Auburn has better players than Troy.

I think Tubbervile and possibly other members of the staff are what is really holding back the offense. They are not attacking defenses like he did at Troy, nor are they attacking defenses like they did in the bowl game. Take away some of those 2 yard zone runs to the T.E side and split him out to call mesh, stick, cross a little more.

We played a team with probably the worst defensive talent I have ever coached against. On one play our fullback had a good head of steam going downhill and thier players were actually pushing each other out of the way to get away from him.

Use card stock. Then cut out the individual bands. Then laminate them. Then cut them from laminated sheet leaving a small waterproof edge.

If you don't like 7 on 7 don't do it. Us that do will continue to get better while you complain. If the other team wants to run some stupid things let them, they are'nt getting better. I do agree on the lack of management/officiating/chippiness, I don't like that. I keep a pretty tight hold on my bunch at these things.

Not if you give him audible control at the line. Not if you visibly show the team he has your trust by asking his opinion during timouts and in practice. Our q.b. can move the running back around and even change a formation at the line if he wants. Our q.b. suggests plays to us at least once per game that we run. Last season he had to grab a senior reciever by the shoulders and make him stop crying during a 2-minute drill in a playoff game.

You need answers for the zone blitz and cov0 blitz. You need answers for the red zone/short yardage. You need answers if they drop 7-8 and max cover.

He played at high school ball at Niece? sp Florida.
I think Urban Meyer would like to have him shoulder much less of the burden running the ball and be more of a pocket passer.

Getting punched in the face doesn't mean litterally punched in the face. It means getting hit hard and or put on your butt in front of 70,000 hostile fans. Or getting Blitzed for a 14-0 deficit before your offense even touches the ball. Or having a running back SLAM an 80 yard drive down your throat running between the tackles. Metaphor for adversity. The question is what do you do now?

Would you skip spring practice if you were taking over as head coach one week before spring practice is set to start? You have not gotten a full staff yet or had the time to get the staff together and coach the coaches. Is it better to just continue with the strength and conditioning program instead of having a half-assed spring? Organization and discipline are big to me and I think a rushed spring would undermine what I'm trying to sell.
Comments and P.M.'s are welcome.

When physically outmanned, what is your approach? Go for it unloading both barrels? Play slow and close to the vest trying to keep it close till the 4th with a chance to win? OTHER?
