Here we are at 0-3. Not playing very well obviously but also playing teams that are flat out more talented than us in addition to the not playing well.
To make matters even worse (just took an L a few hours ago and am trying to fall asleep), even my neighbor in the apartment next door is having a better night than me. He's over there having a marathon session with his wife, and I'm pretty sure he's displaying an endurance that I never could.

Finally got a W guys. 1-4 now with a good chance to take another this next week.
Still not as lucky as my neighbor though. He for sure isn't married.

Took another L bringing us to 0-4. We are just outmatched across the board this year by all teams. It's crazy. Coach it happens. We were 0-4 this time last year. Finished 3-6. Lost four of our best players to other schools. Two of them d1 players. (one a kicker). One was defensive mvp and another two time all state bball player. Lost best player on first drive of third game against back to back state champions. Ended up winning that game 42-21 after being down 21-7. But somehow we are 4-1 with a legit shot at a state title. If you would have told me all that this time last year, I would have said you were insane. |

I'm proud of the great seasons I've been a part of, BUT I'm most proud of the times I coached my arse off just to help the team be respectable. Thoreau stated that most men life lives of quiet desperation. I never take pessimistic view point, but it does point to mundane aspect of the routine of our every day life. So to is football. Don't focus on the season, wins, losses, scores, or outcomes. Focus on the impact you make on just 1 kid. Just 1. |

We knew this group was coming and they haven't had success at any level. Most teams that line up across from us are just flat out better this year. It's all on the line tonight. A win gets us a shot at a winning season, which I wouldn't have believed we had after our 0-4 start.

Great turn around coach! Hope it works out. Something to be said for keeping kids working hard & improving all year to give themselves the chance to have a winning season.

We took an L. Starting QB got a concussion early in the second quarter. Backup QB is a WR and corner who has been having shoulder issues. Had to put a RB back there who has had no QB reps and just pound the rock. He actually did ok, but the wheels fell off late in the 4th.

sounds like a you're in a good place to be coach, I've been at places that were really talented but could have never had the fortitude to bounce back at all from losing a few games. Give me a bunch of kids that won't complain and will continue to battle through the tough times and that's a place I'll stay for a long time.

Give me a bunch of kids that won't complain and will continue to battle through the tough times and that's a place I'll stay for a long time. We always have some tough nosed kids. Won back to back titles a few years back. Those two groups were loaded with talent, but aside from that we just get it done with tough nosed blue collar undersized kids that play together as a pack. This is the most unsuccessful group we have had in a while and we have a couple years of struggles ahead I think, but at least the kids will bring the same attitudes. |

Finished 4-5 with a 48-22 win last week. First losing season in a while. A humbling experience for sure, but a lot of learning both by us coaches and by our players. Time to gear up and help the varsity out through the playoffs. They should make a pretty nice little run based off of our draw and how our bracket shaped up.

Season ended on Friday at 4-5. Frustrating because we should have easily been 6-3. Exciting because we were 0-9 last year and barely scored any points. Now comes the fun part!
