Trust me BB rugby has its fair share of concussions. Rugby is more brutal than football. Head to head collisions without a helmet on!?!?! = bad news

I enjoyed "Playing for Pizza" by Grisham for a football based fictional fun story.

I have been following this for a while.
2 normal offensive teams at the Varsity level in a typical game will get between 100-120 in a regulation HS game. Lots of other variables can change it quite a bit but that is a ball park I have found. 104 seems like a good average.

Wow that kid has gotten on rhythm now. They got a chance with 4 minutes to go. Have to stop the Heisman winner now!

I just don't get Texas. How do you not have a better backup QB. Sure he is the future, but he is not the present. And a shovel pass with 17 seconds left? What are you really going to get done with it?
Also, if you don't have a good backup QB don't put your qb at risk running that type of play.

Does anyone know where I can watch the bowl games live online?
Also, where can you watch the games that have been played already?

Yeah I am surprized there has been no problems with the exchange. I wonder if there are any advantages. As a right handed QB I hated taking my hand off the ball, esp in Play action. So if there is anyway it allows him to keep the ball in a throwing grip it might actually work to be an advantage.

Hey all,
can you explain the Bengals QB Chris Palmers new handoff technique? He only hands off with his right hand. Is this due to an injury?

No it was the Globe of Death. The back 6 came together to the guy who had the ball and then all took off like they had it. Starburst is one guy comes up and then others criss cross behind him taking for faking a handoff.
We ran Globe of Death once this year but did not get much off it. Gimmicky yes. Like to run the stuff more to make sure the next teams waste timing practicing against it....

Well I guess we are not blessed with a genius football mind like you Khalfie!
I have seen many low scoring games. Some have been great. But most have been boring. The packers - ravens game is 3-0, kind of boring.
Be honest, most low scoring games are not because the D is so good but because th O's are not clicking. Weather this time of year can keep some scores down.
It is much more uncommon to see a score like 72-66 in the playoffs now than it is to see a 6-0 game.
So get off your pedastal and try to be open minded to another point of view...

Yeah we used to do that all the time. What's the big deal???
WHAT THE HEY!?!
Wow if that really happened then the kid who did it should be criminally charged. If the coach made it up then that's just bizzare. Who thinks of using tongue depressors?
The helmet buckles have been done several times...

We bought 30 of the Xenith helmets. The guys found them really uncomfortable, but none of them wearing the helmet had concussions. Before that I really like the Riddell Revolution, they are way more comfortable.

Devil's Advocate: They WON'T be expecting it. And if we don't get it it's like a short punt or a punt with a good return. By this I mean they did advance the field position +15. If they had punted 40 with a return of 12 the difference is just 18 yards. AND what if they had gotten it. Lucky yes, but sometimes you have to be lucky to win... Would I do it? No... Seems pretty desperate. But if the conditions were making it hard to punt, or my long snapper or punter was hurt and the back ups were sucking, or if the other team had a dynamite returner...I might just... Naw I wouldnt

I have heard "if you call that play you will get fired"...and it was not from the guys on the headsets...weird...
Then I saw my wife behind us and she knew what I was thinking so she yelled it out. I did not call the reverse flea flicker and instead stuck with the gun zone read...
ha just kidding...sorry, but I thought that that 3rd voice or coaches is what we hear alllll the time on gameday...

Pats still won. I like watching the Dolphins but they still can't beat the big boys. Main problem seems to me is the lack of a really good WR core. Some passes that needed to be caught to win. They need the Saints WR's and their special mouthguards.
On another note I was thinking, with a two QB system like this you could use 2 different wristbands, one for your wildcat / option QB and another for your pro style Offense. What do you think? It would be 2 many plays to choose from but if that was your thing anyways...

Yeah I get that. I just find that my hate for losing drives me more than the joy of winning. Meanwhile, it seems like the players don't seem bothered by losing and get overly inflated egos when they win...

Yeah I am in my 14th year and we have had some good teams lately but this years team seemed to quit in a few games. Guys got injured and sick and never seemed to WANT to come back. They just did not want it as much as we did. Had a few, but just did not have the athletes. What amazes me, is that kids don't watch football as much anymore. They are too busy playing other video games. The football IQ just isn't there ,and neither is the toughness, passion, or heart. Really hoping it's just this year, but next year does not look great. I just don't know what to do...

Man thank you guys I do feel better actually.
Here are a few from this season.
Today - QB could not come as he had to stay home and help clean up the house. The dead beat mom was told by the landlord that the place was a mess and if he came by again and it was like that they would get evicted. I guess he was coming over today so she waited until today to clean it up.
Starting guard and 3 tech has been out for a month sick. He still won't practice because Mom and Dad don't think he is 100%. Meanwhile he is seen wrestling in the hallways and skateboarding around town.
Starting Tailback and OLB does not dress as he is sick and his ankle is sprained. He told us he would, but then did not dress for the game as he did not feel fast enough. Well no crap!?! But still your better than the next kid...aww forget it, go ahead and blow off your senior year...
What have I learned this year? Don't convince a kid who wants to quit to stick it out. They will find a way to quit anyways. If they need to be talked into playing they won't stick it out when the going gets tough....
