I feel I am a little in limbo while waiting for a new head coach to be named.
What are some things I could be doing that would be considered productive and not in vain?

1.) Throwing the game-winning touchdown with the clock running out aganist our old-time rivals as a senior in HS.
2.) My first start at QB in college.
3.) Bit of a story here: My first year in college our defense would always try to take cheap shots on the QBs in practice and the worst guy about it was our starting free safety. So one spring scrimmage the QBs were live and we were driving on their side of the field. We call a reverse and it was designed with the QB picking up the #2 defender to the playside. Even before the snap I knew our Free would be running the alley (#1 was a released DE blocked by our TE peeling back) so I made sure to get out of his line of sight. He comes down hard and I earholed him. His feet came off the ground and over his head, everyone on the offense erupted, the film session was a classic. He never took another cheap shot.

Nice to hear how football can bring people/communities together instead of how overpaid clowns abuse their abilities...

UConn Huskies play them tomorrow and we are a slower team that gave up 517 yards to them last year. How do you approach stopping this team? (I'm just curious) Stop Pat White?!? I've never heard of such a thing... this must be a joke!

along their duties and then complains in which the manner the duties was performed?
Had our AD last night call me and complain about how we put up the equipment from the field of the JV game and how/who locked up the field and shut off the lights.
The real problem was is that said AD lost the district championship volleyball game last night and decided to call and chew some butt over the phone. My response was if you don't like how the job was done you do it yourself.

Dubber we are in the same boat as you in wanting to be able to line up in single wing and spread at any time but we also want the ability to run the buck lateral series at any time from any formation we are in.
I know it sounds as though we are limiting ourselves to only a few formations but the more we look at different sets its more than possible.

We ran out of time this year before we got a victory. I am at a small school where basketball has been king. I need thougts on how to get more numbers out this year. We finished the season with 21. Please help. We tried to make contact with a large base of kids at least once a week and a certain few every other day. We also started having a football camp right at the end of school which incorporated a lot of technique that we teach along with fun games that spiced it up a bit.

Another bit of advice I would have for you is to make sure you teach and re-teach and re-teach the fundamentals over and over and over again...
This will serve you better in the long run.

You should run the buck lateral series behind this unbalanced line! ;D

Well our first 5 games were like murderer's row and our last 5 are cupcakes compared to them. We sit at 1-4 but the district is wide open and if we can get on a roll we could be playing our cross-town rival for a district championship the last week of the season.
Our defense has improved every week and when we finally stopped putting the ball on the ground the offense has started to click. We had a great off-week of practice (best since I've been here) and we play the bottom dwellers of the district on friday. How do we relay to the kids that this is our second chance? What will it take to get them to believe they have a chance to win this thing?
Everyone on the staff is optimistic and the kids are starting to have fun.

Our coss town rival actually had a problem with this a few years ago.
There had been a kid at our school that was murdered (a good friend to most on the football team) and the police suspected a group of kids at the cross town school of the shooting. Well, they came to our house that year and during pre-game stretches and all of them in unison cocked their imaginary guns and shot at our team while yelling "CLICK, CLICK, BOOM."
Needless to say the coaches from the other school were very sorry after the pre-game fight.

In our last 3 games we dominates the 1st half. 1st game at the half 22-6 for us, Win 22-13 the second we played with no drive. 2nd game at the half 33-12 for us, Win 40-34. And this we week game we where 33-10 at the half for us, Win 33-29. We can't play are sub, if one bad call or a bad play arrive, are players stop playing. How do you get them to stay hungry in the second half and stay focus. Patrice Start practicing in bad situations such as, sudden change, bad calls, etc. We also go in a halftime and rip everyone from the waterboy to the starting QB and that usually fires them up enough, especially with a lead.

I know we have all lost games. I am wondering how many of you feel you have lost games because you did not make an adjustment or got away from what worked in a game. I had this happen this week for me. What made it worse for me was we had not lost a game in 2 years and it ended a 24 game win streak. Add to that it was at home. Just looking for feedback one others that have felt this way or who have been through it. Needless to say it has been a rough few days. My question for you is wasn't your gameplan coming into the game a offensively/defensively sound plan that fit your personnel? I think you shouldn't be second guessing if the answer is yes.

No he isn't the long snapper and we have more centers that also start on other positions on the line. The problem with the sophomore center is that he can't play anywhere else and contribute on the varsity.

We have a freshman center that has probably developed into the best center we have, he is playing JV. The varsity center, a sophomore, has lost confidence and continues to get worse.
My question is should we move the freshman up and the sophomore down so that the varsity offense has a better chance to succeed and the soph can gain more confidence? Or would this do more harm than good?
