if you look at the highlights, the dolphins put ronnie brown at qb. he took direct snaps and ran the striker sweep w/ ricky williams. brown also off the striker fake ran the counter, power and waggle
some may think this style of spread is off the wall but it works even at the highest level....they beat the patriots in foxborough
if anyone can post the plays on you tube it would be appreciated

Remember the falcons pulled the zone read on the bucs two years and it disappeared next week.

When the Falcons ran the zone read, it was just that--a play. The Dolphins appear to have a nice detailed package with what they are doing. Long term success? Who knows at this point, but they should have success with it beyond this point.

the falcons had the package too. Watch the games. They had the boot, the zone, the shovel, the whole package.

It's the future of football!!!!!
All kidding aside, it was nice to see something "different" and "series-based" at the pro-level, even if it was something that I myself would not run. I thought it was pretty cool.

It was cool to see!
They caught the Pats with their pants down. IMO it won't be as effective from here on out.
Where did Pennington go??? Did they line him up as a receiver or take him out of the game.

what is the wildcat offense

It's the exact same Wildcat package that the Arkansas Razorbacks used (formation, terminology). David Lee the Dolphins quarterback coach was the offensive coordinator at Arkansas and as everyone knows they used it with Darren McFadden and Felix Jones.

Pennington was at WR, away from the play. I got 10 bucks on the Chiefs ending their offensive whoas with the A-11 next week.

On the long sweep to Williams Pennington actually ligned up to the playside and blocked the CB.
But a very nice series. And a lot more interesting formations and plays from the Dolphins. And some of the time they had both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams on the field at the same time even in regular formations.
Hate that the commentators called it a reverse, though.

Their is nothing wrong with it, its fascinates me. But its not revolutionary and its not new.Its a great call by Miami. But it has no legs. IF you cant potty train your child? you shouldnt buy your puppy. Sort of like if you dont want kids, you might not...... well you know.

I am dumbfounded...
And it just goes to show, how the NFL is a cookie cutter league.
1. Everyone's jumping on the "Wildcat" bandwagon. 2. No one has yet to man up and send the house when the RB's at the QB position...
If the RB isn't a converted college QB... I'm bringing the house... its goalline defense time. Why the NFL still stays in their base packages with their 3 or 4 man fronts is utterly ridiculous to me.
I'm no rocket scientist... but I did stay in a holiday inn last night... bring the house, go goalline... make the HB throw a pass for goodness sake. Let me see a team put a HB in the backfield... we're going to find out how well he can read a coverage and throw the ball... real fast!

I know Ronnie Brown has at least one TD pass this year; don't know if he is a former QB or not. But, with everyone else's Wildcat, I agree with you Khal. Also, I loved how ridiculously wide open that TD run by Ricky Williams was today.

The Eagles ran it tonight with DeSean Jackson in the shotgun; he ran around the right corner from the 12 for a touchdown.
