Have kids stand out front passing out flyers. They will let you do it for a little bit

does anyone have a lifting program from a collegiate track program?
Our Head track coach doesn't let his sprinters lift the day of meets, or the day before.
I think some research or a lifting program from a college that contradicts this would be helpful.

What happens if they can't sell enough ads? Do you have to give done money back?

Coaches,
are the trash bags easier to sell then cookie dough? Did you think the margins were better? Suggested selling strategies?
thanks

I agree with you guys about the team cohesion and what not. But one of my former player is a crossfit games competitor and he can clean and jerk around 385.
So a lot of programs do a strength component before the actual wod. Now don't get me wrong he does a hell of a lot more lifting then just a 20 minute strength component before a wod.

I would stop coaching if i had practice every day for 5 hours(including post practice)
Or at least a significant raise. I make about 1,000. It would take me 10,000 to work those hours during the week.

In florida we have 18 practices, plus a game at the end of spring. As well as an intersquad game about half way through. this year we also participated in an officials scrimmage, which was used to train officials, and we went against another team for about 30 plays each.
It is really good for install as well as recruiting(biggest benefit in my opinion)

My question is are they worth it?
we would take about 25 kids.
350 a piece
3 days- 7 practices
i think we would have to foot the bill for most of the kids like 90%.
basically the majority of our money we raise would have to go to it.
thoughts?

Yeah, that seems like a lot. We will have more intense days and lighter days at least on the field.
We go 4 days a week. Some days 1.5 hrs others more 2.5 hrs.
I could see how your schedule would lead to coaches/players burning out.

doubletight,
If one of those kids from the club team would transfer to one of those coaches schools they would have to sit out a year.

we cleared like 4,000 on cookie dough.
I'm hoping to do this maybe first week of april. then cookie dough will be done in may during spring ball.
I just think that they are pretty different, since one is pennies per pound. and mayble 2 or 3 dollars total from that sponsor, while cookie dough you actually get something back for it in the cookie dough.
I'm just going to sell it that i think its an easy $1,000 or more. i think we;ll have about 45 participate.

yes, they will have sponsorships or a flat donation on the sheet. we do gold cards at the end of the summer.
I was just hoping to do this too.

I want to do a liftathon this spring. We usually do cookie dough or something like that in the spring and we probably will continue doing that.
I have a good sheet for the liftathon and we're asking every kid to earn 30 dollars. My HCs worry is that it will take away from the cookie dough. But my reasoning to him was that with this they only need a couple of dollars donations/sponsorships instead of 10-20 like with the cookie dough.
thoughts?
I just think its a really easy fundraiser and we keep all the money.

i would play him varsity.
especially if he can kick consistent touchbacks.
that is saving your defense about 5 first downs a game, minimum.
unless you guys never score.

We started the spring with 60. After two weeks of hitting we were down to 42. The key is to make sure and do your fundraising before they quit.

If the cops find him guilty then do whatever you said you would prior, or follow your rules/school procedures. If not, then let it go.
