Since we can easily get a list together of the worst clinic speakers, I'm sure we can do this too.
Who are your favourite clinic speakers and why?

Nick Saban took a page from Lou Holtz's playbook: The first half of his talk is program/philosophy while the second half is serious technical football.

Well, they both played at Kent State (not at same time).
Must've been part of the curriculum.

They must have cut the course in magic tricks when Nick got there.

Matt Mitchell @ Grand Valley State was really good talking about the secondary. This guy is awesome. Highly recommend him Saw this guy in Indy several years ago. Fellow coach heard him talk defense and said you HAVE to go see this guy. He was talking special teams the following day. Absolute Classic! Intense and dropped more expletives than anyone I have ever heard speak.

This year: My favorite was Joel Williams from Delta state. Very simple, very honest, very humble.

is there a difference between favorite and most informative? Saw Rich Rod speak a few years ago at a Nike Clinic....dude seemed a little buzzed before he got up there started cussing, saw a guy in the crowd with his small son and apologized, but went on to give the best line I have ever heard at the end of a clinic talk.....Mentioned about being a parent of a football player and his son got his first recruiting letter....told his son "that's all fine and good but I'm going get you to Arizona, I'll even sleep with your mommma to sign ya!" Had me and a buddy rolling the whole time

Over here across the pond, there is no 'u' in "favorite."

One of the funniest things that I ever saw at a clinic was when I sat behind a couple of coaches from Gallaudet, the school for the hearing impaired. They had an interpreter with them, a young lady. Deaf interpreters don't just translate the spoken words into sign language, they interpret the mood of what was said. When the speaker told a really dirty joke it was hard to get re-focused on the presentation.

I should also say....Rich Rod was the last speaker on Saturday Night (so got started at like 9:30-10:00 at night) me and my buddy had same question. Kid had to be like 6-7 years old max, my guess is family made a weekend trip to DC for the clinic and son wanted to be with Dad

Seen Scott Huff of Boise state speak around 2006. Think he was only a few years out of playing but was going into detail about every dirty oline trick. Peel back blocks torque finishes cut blocks blowing knees all with more f bombs then I've ever seen from a speaker. As a ex olinemen I was digging it but think about half the academic crowd got up and left.

Been to a lot of clinics in my 32 years of coaching, and without a doubt the best single presentation I have seen was Gus Bradley at The NDSU Clinic when he was the DC at Seattle. Great combination of intensity, philosophy and technique.

Ha, I was thinking out loud about that one: "Is it with or without the U?" From now on it'll be favorite, color and flavor on Huey's ;-). Im in Belgium, so not a native English speaker.

Clay Patterson from Northeast Oklahoma (and formerly of Trinity Valley CC in Texas) was great. Picked up a few things for the mechanics of the bubble screen route (what he calls 'crawfish') and for ID'ing the main fulcrum point of the defense and adjusting your game plan for the week solely off of him.
