I finally took the time to read this whole thing, man its pretty good. I get mad at USC for always killing notre dame and succeeding where ND fails, but this guy is something else. Great read if you got a while.

We didn't really do rewards, other than Tshirts every once in a while to the regulars. But we had a board, just a plane wood plywood board that was painted up and put a easy boarder on. Then we slotted it out and made a bench section, squat section and clean section. It was like a graph, put your name once you reached the weight that allowed you to get on the board. 200 bench, 200 clean 300 squat. And from there you put a bar out to where the max was. It was a way that we could be proud of our lifting and everyone else who used the weight room saw who the hard workers were. Coaches did the board so that players couldn't fudge their totals.

Don't change your playcalling. Call what wins the game. don't go out of your way to get him the yards but if you have an opprotunity to reward a kid whose worked hard for your program why not let him go for it.

Whats wrong with roy williams, hes a stud reciever now days. Especially with the QBs he has had throwing him the ball. I'd take him or Larry Fitgerald any day. both are pretty darn good young recievers. javon walker is also a game changer. So to say that those guys didn't pan out I disagree. as for the quinn vs Russell debate, I take quinn every day of the week. So what if russell can throw the ball throw the goal posts from the 50 on his knees, kyle boller did that too. I don't care if quinn didn't win the big game, its hard to win the big game when your defense gives up 45. peyton manning never beat florida either. When I look at brady quinn I see a young tom brady. Maybe thats cuz of charlie weis mentoring them both, but i think quinn is more polished and carries him self really well. Hes no chump either, 2 bacholors degrees from Notre Dame, thats not too shabby.

I want Hawaii vs LSU, cuz I want Hawaii to get beat for playing such a crappy schedule. Or hawaii vs USC, whoever will stomp them. is Kansas still a BCS team even with a loss?

here at UW Lacrosse we had a theory of coaching football class, i think it was one or two credits, taught by our defensive coordinator but he just got a head coaching job else ware so I'm not sure if the class will be taught anymore.

I don't see it as a cult just guys who buy into their system. Guys who run the same system tend to chat it up a lot to see how they can improve what they are doing. If you are a wing T guy you don't go to a air raid guy for a better way to seal the end off on buck sweep. I can see why you'd say its a cult but I think its more just like kinds sticking together. Same as most systems I think.

I currently have playmaker pro and its alright but its kind of picky on certain things and annoying to use sometimes. I was looking at playbook pro and downloaded the demo and liked it. I want to buy the whole gameprep solutions package of the playscript, play card play book and depthchart. but I want to make sure its worth it before I go spending nearly 600 bucks on it all. has anyone used these and what are the advantages of playbook pro vs playmaker pro any help would be highly appreciated! thanks!

So what is the argument here? Is the argument that colt brennan is a product of a system or is the argument whether or not he will be a legitimate NFL QB. I think all agree he is a product of a system but I'd like to hear what people think about his nfl prospectus. I personally would not take him when there are guys like Brian Brohm and a few others out there. Brennan may be a good second day project but lets face it, when was the last time he took a snap under center or ran a true play action fake not out of shot gun.

This isn't a problem with high school football, its a problem with america's youth. To say that its a high school football problem is completly narrow mindedness to whats happening to the youth of america. To say that these "overweight" kids are playing football means atleast they are out and active. Before they start blaming coaches for the size of kids now days they have to look at the percentage of obese kids that aren't even playing sports.

Cutters has the wrist cards online that you can downoad with 20 or 30 plays per card, I use those and then glue them to the side of my play sheet so I see exactly waht my QB sees when it comes to play calling. I write all my notes on the left side of my play card.

Since 2000, Heisman trophy winners are 2-5 in bowl games while the runner up is 3-1 when facing the winner. The only loss is Brad Banks being defeated by Carson Palmer in 03 USC vs Iowa. Otherwise, Heuple defeated Weinke in 2001, Adrian Peterson defeated Jason white in 2004 and Vince Young defeated Reggie bush in 2006.

Touchdowng I can't agree more. When I am coaching after I graduate college that is the attitude I want to have. That is the part of me that makes not coaching so difficult. Seeing improvement and striving for improvement is what gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning.

But like lou says in his first book. Some of the best speeches don't make you play better. He said, he heard some great speeches that made him feel like super man but when he got out there and got lit up on the opening kickoff he didn't feel so special anymore. A speech can only do so much for ya.

Before this year, when peyton manning wasn't winning the big games the same questions were asked. Well, now hes got a ring and everyone shut up. It took peyton 8 years, lebron is only in year 4, jordan didn't win his first in 4 years either. Give him time.

Can't say I agree with their decision. Mason has put 2 of the exciting young Rbs in the leauge (marion barber, l. Maroney) He has one of the best running games in the NCAA and he took a basement feeder and turned it into a bowl contender. What do you have to do now days to keep your job? 118 teams can't win the national championship.

I'm not a big fan of paying to watch lesser talented football but I tell you what I wish I could play. There is no shame in playing a game you love at whatever level you can play at. Just because people don't pay to watch doesn't mean you give it up. As long as its played the right way, I'll watch it, I just might not pay to watch it.
