I consider the Heisman as the Most Valuable Player Award, that is the player who is most valuable to his team. Considering this, which player was most valuable to his team? I think its Brennan. I don't think there's any way Hawaii would be 12-0 and in a BCS Bowl game without Brennan. Would Florida be as good without Tebow? No they wouldn't, but I think a different QB would be able to lead Florida to at least a .500 record or probably even better. I think he's a heck of a player with extreme talent, but I still think Brennan was more valuable to his team. But thats just my opinion. I don't have a vote so I guess it doesn't matter what I really think. a .500 record gets you fired at florida. Zook went to 3 straight bowl games and he still got canned.

First coach you have to decide if you plan to settle at the school you are at or if you are using this school to boost you into a higher position. Bellicheck always says the best championship is the next one. Also, whats wrong with winning more than one at the same school. What says you have to leave? If you like the job, the kids are great and you are in a good spot, why move on if you don't have to. First find out where you want to be and then decide how its going to take place.

we had a kid last year that thought he had to fart while showering, well he had a little more comeout than he thought would. (he pooped in the shower) he cleaned it up with a t shirt and threw it all away. The kids called him Shower S***er . We still joke about it.

Well he outsmarted himself to a national championship over a Ohio State team that couldn't be beaten. So call it a mickey mouse offense, call it whatever you want, but he has 2 BCS bowl wins in the last 4 years, his QB is leading the heisman polls. I think hes doing a pretty decent job and everyone in the country is running an offense that he was a lead designer of. So hate urban meyer, but he knows what hes doing. And I think he outsmarts the other guys more often than he out smarts himself.

More genius announcers on FSN for the ASU vs Cal game. The guy didn't understand what it meant when a reciever was called ineligible downfield for being "covered up"

Ummm urban meyer isn't going anywhere. Hes got a national championship and recruits lining up at the swamp to jump in. I think hes got about as much job security as anyone in the game.

I'm all for helmet stickers and all of that, but mile time? When do you run a mile in football. Make it relevant to the task at hand. Football is 80 4 second bursts, not a 7 minute run.

Heres an idea, control their offense with your offense. If you aren't sure of how to stop them, run the ball, and keep the clock going. Limit their offensive snaps. Don't snap the ball until under 5 on the play clock.

How about reading guards? Is there a tendancy that the guards take you to the play? Either that, or assign each player, side, or position group a threat. Not necessarily a player, but a threat. You tackle the first threat through your hole. The only problem with that is you really need to defeat blocks.

How about just using them? Use them the week before the game so the QBs get used to them. When i was in high school my coach gave me 3 balls at the start of the summer and said, break them in for the first game. We'd always break a few balls in during the season and use them for game balls.

Last year before a game the opposing teams coach said we looked like a pop warner team. Our pop warner team from a school ove 380 kids 9-12 grade beat his team from a school of 1200 kids 21-0 allowing 120 yards of offense while we had 2 backs go over 100 yards. Pop warner my butt
funniest thing was last year I was coaching the JV team and there was a fumble. I think we might have had the game in hand but I had a line in my pocket that I had been waiting to use. So the play comes to the end and we didn't get the ball on the fumble and I yell "come on guys we gotta jump on that ball ike its the last chopper out of 'Nam!" the refs looked at me and started laughing all the fans started laughing it was great. Most of my kids didn't have a clue what I meant.

The spread in some cases is finness, but in the case of Tim Tebow plowing over LBs, its a power offense. Boy do I wish we had a 6'3 240lb kid who has a need for high impact collisions every few plays.

I don't even think that its that they don't fit, I think its that they don't buckle them up tight half the time. Maybe thats what you mean by not fitting, but a lot of times they don't buckle them as tight as they should or even buckle all 4 snaps.

I notice that the guys with those long dreads have a problem keeping their helmets on quite a bit. But I agree with you guys, I rarely see a helmet pop off in a high school game. I remember one time mine almost came off when I really got stuck on an option, right under the chin. The chin strap went up to my nose but never came off. I don't know how these guys get their helmets knocked off. At the same time, why don't half these guys wear mouth guards? As big and as fast as these guys fly around and you don't wear a mouth guard. Thats crazy/stupid.

In Wisconsin, the smallest decifiet was 14 points with most up in the 30 point range. Kind of an odd year for state championships.

I agree with you Wingt74, you look at it and there are a lot of guys who could probably return those for TDs. Hester probably only made one guy miss per return. Plus the broncos were kicking it right down the middle. Not even directional kicking, right down the middle to the best return man in football. Just stupid.

Well save your dollars and cents by turning off the projector, shut down the film room, and just squib it. No gameplanning involved. Kick it to a fat guy and play defense.

Ha, Ha! Think about it as a financial choice? We're paying 10 guys, (x amount of thousands) of dollars per kick-off, to run down there and tackle "one guy".... I mean, this is the NFL, so you gotta figure these are good athletes (no slow guys here). And then a kicker to kick it and maybe fall down in front of the "one guy"? Coach's are getting paid to teach them to run down there and tackle the "one guy", trainers getting paid to patch them up, when they get injured trying to tackle the "one guy". You got that big gatoraid bill, the light bill is high keeping everyone cool in the summer and warm in the winter, while waiting on the bench for the next kick-off. Heck, thats a lot of money being paid out, just to squib kick it every time, lol! At the same time, you don't have a job as a special teams coach if he keeps returning them on you, so maybe you should just bite your pride one game a year and not kick to him, keep kicking to him and your wife is gonna get mad that you keep moving cities so often.
