To me if they don't I don't get mad, truth be told, we are all backdoor trading and already have copies of that teams film before we play them anywayz.
We have a legendary coach here who is known for switiching jersey numbers each week. So you will never get a clear picture of which player is which anywayz.

In GA we don't play to win, we don't keep score (Are at least we don't tell the players) I don't let me QB go deep, we move the ball around to different sides of the field and see how routes look from there.
I think it works best if you do 7 on 7 with your team only and then go to a 7 on 7 tourney late vs. other teams. Us the time to teach ur plays slow and then throw thm under the fire.
We do 7 on 7 all June and early July and then go to Ga. Tech and Clemson 7 on 7 tourneys that are 2 days vs. 5 teams a day

what do you try to get done during spring practice? Base, Base, Base
how much full contact work do you do? out of ten days, 7 is full pads, including scrimmage
how long is practice? 2 and 1/2 hours top
do you emphasize one side of the ball? we do both ( we divide our players into teams red and black) when red is on Offense, black is on defense, maxs reps.
what about special teams? only special teams

I would expect for my assistants to be there along with myself. We currently have Weight-lifting and walk throughs every morning from 7-10. Assistants will miss, from time to time. I have missed a lot of the morning workouts because of a class I had to take for my teaching job, but other than that I am there, when there is anything on my schedule.
The question that has to be asked is two-fold.
1) Why is this assistant missing? because he doesn't want to be there or because of other issues. 2)How do you feel as a coach about it? Did you lay it out when you hired him that he needed to be their and if they are getting paid during the summer should they be there?

Football is more than Wins and Losses.
In GA, we don't have union's so it is a simple STATE RULE that you must be a teacher.
I LOVE being a TEACHER!!!
how can someone who works a regular 9-5 just show up to coach a football team as the HC?
How does he deal with the "other" isssues that the students have on a daily basis?

Rumors not gone, but he may be hard pressed to get Bama. New rumor out of Atlanta is Mora Jr. to Bama but I doubt it.

OL material Herman is the best!!!! Hands down
He shows you how to break down practice and teaches you all the steps.
Erdelyi is a great resource for the overall game as well.

Yes, the coach just would need to find the right players.
I say this one of the school's I coached at sent the star WR to App. State the HC couldn't get any D-I offers for him App. State wanted him back because he ran a 4.41, they said we can teach him how to catch.
Get Paul Johnson at the right school, every TB who is 5'9, 185 and a 4.3 and FB's who are 4.6, are ATH QB's who are 5'11 will be there and it will work this kids are being told they can't play major ball, and yes SPEED is a equalizer, don't believe me, play a team with more than you and a good hard-nosed defense and it would work.

H.S. played in a Option and Zone I and 3-4/52 defense IN College Played in the Spread/One-Back.
Coaching Wing-T and 3-4(52) love the Wing-T, but because we have been unable to get into the playoffs but once, can't say I love the bucksweep as much(under center) but love the other plays.
4-3 Cover 4 defense is now my thing.

Because our Assitant Head Coach is the Head Track Coach, all players not in a spring sport must run-track, and we make them hit the weight room as well.

I do believe they should have a playoff system but with only 12 teams.
ZOOK is a horrible coach, he can recruit talent, Illnois will find out 2 years from now when they are 7-4 every year with Top 10 recruiting classes.
I beleive all conferences should go to a a once a year challenge, like Basketball. Big Ten vs. ACC Big 12 vs. SEC Big East vs. C-USA WAC vs. MAC

Cutcliffe is still coaching UT in the bowl game before he goes to Duke. And Trooper Taylor is staying thru the bowl game before he goes to Ok St. They stayed... Hmmmm. I guess good for UT, I do wonder how they will perform without either next year.

Best example Stephenson High School in Atlanta GA, averages 6 D-IA players every year, 2 years ago, they sent one to FSU, 2 to LSU, 2 to Florida, 1 to UCF and got blasted in the state seminfinals 40-7.
It is about Jimme's and Joes, but coaches can put there team in every game, we did this year, 2-8 with a team a team that had 2 wins in 3 years, and lost 5 games by 6 or less.
