Any tips for practicing with another team? We are thinking of doing an inside run period (I'd like to do that as thud), 7 on 7 period with 1 on 1's for the line, 1 on 1's for DB's playing man coverage on receivers, then scrimmage about 20 plays a piece.

Went to Giants practice on Saturday. Wow, I've seen Pop Warner teams practice a lot harder. This new collective bargaining agreement is a joke.

Usually, we play on Saturday mornings. Staff meeting Sunday morning 8-11 AM, then watch films with kids after lifting on Monday. Latest the staff has left on Monday is 7:30 PM.

My school is grades 7-12, and we have about 540 kids. You tend to get to know everyone really quickly. 2 years ago, I plucked our starting Sam LB from the hallways, and he ended up being our DPOY. Last year, we pulled a kid who started every game for us at WR and CB, had 3 TD and 3 INT for us. The number of kids I get from the halls that end up being players tends to be 2-3. It is a lot of work for very few kids, but they have ended up being contributors.

State Semis - had to drive 2.5 hours to get to the game. When we got there, they didn't even have shoulder pads on. Music BLARING (seriously LOUD) so we could not hear ourselves during warmups. They stood on their 40 and watched us the whole time. We came out in the first quarter with the lead, but they did come back to beat us.

Inside run session has been a complete waste of time for our offense. The backside DE's just crash every single play and tackle us from behind. Then I tell the QB to pull and we score every time. Then I have to yell at the backup DE's to play disciplined. So on and so forth.

Our field had about 5 inches of snow on it, and snow was accumulating on our players helmets. Ridiculous.

Best pre-game I've seen was before our state semi-final playoff game last year. Our opponent (and eventual champ) swaggered down to the field without shoulder pads or helmets on. They blasted music so loud we couldn't hear ourselves. They tossed the ball around, including linemen, for about 20 minutes. Then, they all stood on the 50 yard line watching our warm-up in intimidating fashion before they sauntered to the locker room.
