According to Wikipedia the song "One Shining Moment" which is played following the Men's NCAA basketball championship game was originally intended to be played after Super Bowl XXI. Instead of the opening lines as they are now the song began "The ball is kicked..." IMO that would have been a cool way to wrap up the Super Bowl. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Shining_Moment

I still have a soft spot for the Kenny Loggins song they used for the final four theme back in 1980 when Iowa was there. The things you remember! Tog has to put up with that story each time we hear the song.
