would any of you be suprised if he won it again, and breaks vince youngs record of 3,000 passing and 1,000 rushing?

I actually think his numbers will be less next year since they will have a true RB with the Moody kid. I think Meyer will try to lesen Tebows load somewhat. He still might win it again though. And if he does, he'll deservr it.

Just to let you know, CMU QB Dan LeFevour joined Vince Young this year in that exclusive club, i understand he plays in the MAC, but it's still an accomplishment to throw for over 3,000 and run for 1,000+ as well. Anyways, Tebow deserved it and it'll be interesting to see what he'll be doing next year.

I consider the Heisman as the Most Valuable Player Award, that is the player who is most valuable to his team. Considering this, which player was most valuable to his team? I think its Brennan. I don't think there's any way Hawaii would be 12-0 and in a BCS Bowl game without Brennan. Would Florida be as good without Tebow? No they wouldn't, but I think a different QB would be able to lead Florida to at least a .500 record or probably even better. I think he's a heck of a player with extreme talent, but I still think Brennan was more valuable to his team.
But thats just my opinion. I don't have a vote so I guess it doesn't matter what I really think.

i thought the heisman was for the "most outstanding player" in college... not necessarily an MVP award. based on this, tim tebow was without question the right choice. i dont even think mcfadden should have been considered..... very inconsistent. he had a few games this year where he didnt even go over 100 yards. big game player, but to me not a heisman candidate.

Don't forget McFadden was going up against 9 man fronts most of the time. Tebow was well deserving but I think McFadden was the best player in college football this year. Brennan was excellent. I don't know what mel kiper is smoking but I think brennan is the #2 qb in the draft

It was a very weak field this year. I thought McFadden was the best guy in the country but it's hardly like, if he had won, you'd be telling stories about him to your grandkids.
It's a shame that a couple years ago you had Vince Young define what a spread QB is supposed to be like (3000 passing, 1000 rushing, undefeated team that averages 50 points a game) and this year a talented guy who plays on a decent but not great Florida team who ends up shouldering the load because of a total lack of talent in the backfield wins. But that's life.
Can't argue with Tebow I guess, but one of the more underwhelming Heisman winners in years.
I mean if I could draft my team based on everyone in college football - even if I ran Florida's offense - I'm pretty sure I would choose Dennis Dixon over Tebow. Significantly more dangerous guy. Second it'd be McFadden, a guy who strikes real fear into the defense. But maybe others would disagree.

it was definitely a two man race.. i would have voted mcfadden first personally but tebow a close second.
i guess mcfadden will just have to be okay with the huge contract he'll be signing pretty soon. does anyone else think he may be the only heisman finalist that will have any success at the next level?

Brennan could have over 20 rushing TDs too if he got the ball by the goaline ;D

The only argument I've heard for Tebow is the number of touchdowns. I'm not arguing the fact that he won he is a great kid and any coach would be lucky to have a Tebow on his team but most of those TDs were less than 10 yards with the defense spread out. Nothing like the type of runs from Pat White or Dennis Dickson. That being said I think people were wowed by the total number of TDs not the way they were scored. Again no arguments on him winning but I could easily see McFadden or Brennan winning the Heisman. MHO

MHO I completley agreee with u 100% on this hisrushing tds were only from like 15 yards out o 1 yard out , and compared to dixon and white he was nothing in that category......... but cmon guys look at the numbers....... he had a total of 1 playmaker besides himself on the team...... and they still managed to win but if u think future wise ...........i still thin hell carry the load but how lon do u think he could still do it for,,,,, i dont think he could go through another season of that.... maybe come close to putting up the same numbers but not the same exact one's

I'll put it this way with Tebow: If they win a National Championship, he will not mimic the stats he had this year. If he does, they will have another 3 losses.
This is not causation, but simply correlation. It's the same principle as a RB who carries 20 times for 120 yards may not be a better runner than the guy who carries 35 times for 130 yards, but I can tell you he plays in a better offense.

How many of you guys out there think he can handle another year or two of the beating that is the SEC if he continues to run like he does?
In one interview I heard him say that he does not plan to run as much next year, and I hope for his sake that is true. Look how beat up he got this year, granted he is tough as nails and played through it all but it has to take a toll on a guy. If he continues to take this kind of beating I think when he gets to the NFL it will drastically cut into his playing career.
That being said, having 11 tim tebow mentality type players would be real nice.
By the way, did you see the numbers that Chase Daniel had in comparasion to Colt Brennan. Everyone talked about how great Colt's number were (which they were), but Daniel had 4 less yards 5 less touchdowns, but also had 4 less picks and completed about the same % of passes.

The backup guy blistered the opposition.

I have watched the "Faces of Sports - Tim Tebow" many times since it aired when he was a QB at Neese HS, and it mentality and effort on the field in second to none. They talked about when he was a junior, he played the second half with a broken bone in his leg and eventually scored the winning touchdown. By far the best athlete on the field even with a broken leg.
The man is a freak, but as many of you stated earlier, how much more can he take in college and eventually the pro's.

Fine, but how many games did Colt Brennan miss? How many games early in the season was he pulled out of the game early?

Brennan's numbers are way down from last year too! 58 TDs (NCAA record) and over 5,000 yards.
