How many varsity head coaches DO NOT make a hard copy of the daily practice plan for their assistant coaches for practice? Thanks for your input.

I'm going to start film sessions with our O-Line. What would you suggest for guides line before starting? I don't want it to turn into a bitch session or players being disrespectful of other players, etc. Thank you for your input.

Can anyone tell me about Carmel High School Spread Offense? We play a team this week that went there to learn their offense. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I would give anything for a 2-deep offensive line that is coming back! Remember ,Job didn't lose his faith! Don't take the transfers personally as the tuition at the private school is probably more than many people can afford.

On the American Football Monthly website, you can view the Bengals O-Line Circuit Drill. Can anyone explain Station #1, the Re-Direct Station? And, the pipe stations as well. Your input would be valued as I'd like to set up a drill like this in pre-practice. Thanks!

Regarding offensive, what are the duties of your coaches in the press box during your games. We need to get more organized. Thanks in advance!

More info needed: Do you platoon or have to coach people both ways? How big is your staff? How long does your HC wish to practice? Probably more questions that these guys will ask. 4 man coaching staff we don't platoon during school - 2.5 to 3 hours

I need your input organizing a daily varsity football practice. In a normal practice, how many minutes do you spend on the following: warm-up, individual, group, team & special teams. I want to present a good plan to our HC as there is no plan. Everything is planned on the spur of the moment as we practice. If you have a user friendly template available, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Where can I find a diagram of the defensive numbering system? e.g.: 3 technique = outside shoulder of the guard, etc. Thanks!

I think there was a parable in the bible about that....something about coveting your neighbor's goods or something. I'm not trying to take the high-road, but just pointing out that this is a small-time, petty issue. ~Brophy
I think if you are full time coach and get paid as a full time coach, then you ought to be at practice full time! I wonder how the situation would work out in the business field. Ya, I'm sure they would let me come in late every day and no one would have an issue with it.....ya, right! Brophy, I thin I know you well enough to know you are playing "devil's advocate."

Here is the scenario on our varsity football staff. The following has been going on for nine season. One of our coaches shows up for practice from 45 minutes to one hour after practice starts every day. He receives the same pay as I do. It's been bothering me and another coach for sometime, but we haven't said anything. This coach isn't on the teaching staff. Only the head coach is on staff.
My question is.....what would you do about this situation?? Please give you input.

I agree as it takes time and the QB is doing 30 yard sprints to the coach and the back to the huddle. The system iusing the wrist coach is in place, but not used for some reason. We've been close several times to delays.

What are the pros & cons of using a wrist coach and calling a play into the QB? We have the system in with our QB wearing a wrist coach. But our coach calls the QB over to the sidelines after each play, gives him the play, the QB runs to the huddle and calls the play twice in the huddle. Seems like using the wristcoach would be more efficient and we would be calling more plays per game. Your opinions please. Am I missing something??

I would like a "killing the clock" chart for high school. In Michigan, the clock starts on the snap after change of possession. In other states, it may differ.

We're definitely in the lower circle of coaching. We get a bottle of water and two cookies. Of course, I only take one! Here's the kicker.....we get them even if we lose the game!

I don't know if Buck Nystrom is in the circuit anymore, but he is the best I have ever seen. If you sat in the front row or in the isle of the presentation there was a 99% chance that you were going to be a human blocking dummy for one of his punch or blocking drills. Or....spit upon! :-)

I really like the Cutter's wrist coach! But, the paper inserts don't hold up well under lots of sweat. Guess I'll have to laminate them. Have you found the same problem? How did you fix it?
