A donor wants to buy our offensive linemen some gloves. Do you recommend the full or half finger type. Thanks!

Full. If you can get the cutter re-enforcers i think thats the name. They have a strap that wraps around the wrist and have hard plastic in the fingers.

Get the full length gloves. Tips of the fingers are what gets caught in facemasks and pads and that stuff. Protect them.

You know, for me the purpose of wearing lineman gloves was more for the top protection on the meat of your hand...so if it got stepped on..you had protection. A lot of lineman gloves I see now, are very thin on the top of the hand, what is the purpose of these now? Also..admittedly, big bulky gloves hide holding a lot better ;p. I had big ol padding on the top of my gloves..loved them things..saved me a lot of pain. I can't say the fingers getting caught in a helmet was ever an issue though.

Full fingers, why not protect the entire hand?

I liked the half fingers as a player the padding on the top of my hand saved my butt many times. You're not grabbing a ball so I'd think that the gloves would hurt your grip if they were full fingers.

If you can find them, Neumann makes one of the the best linemen gloves I've ever used. Long lasting and hold up well in the wet conditions. Can get in either full finger or half finger.
