How many varsity head coaches DO NOT make a hard copy of the daily practice plan for their assistant coaches for practice? Thanks for your input.

How can you conduct an well-organized practice which covers all the necessary items without a plan to consult?

It is my job as the Associate HC to post a plan in the lockeroom, print 6 copies for the varsity staff, and share our plan with the frosh HC for him to use as a tool. It works really well and takes just one little thing off the plate of the HC (who works more hours than anyone ever realizes).

I was on a staff where after we had been together for a few years (only a three man staff), we didn't need a practice plan anymore. We had all learned to coach from the same guy, did the same things every week, so there just wasn't a need. We were very successful as well (not bragging, just saying it worked).
However, on the staffs I had that were bigger and less familiar with the routine of practice, trying to do it without a copy of the plan in everyone's hands would've been a complete cluster.
