Some folks believe Bobby Lowder was behind the hire and most likely behind the fire. Word is, he runs the show around there.

I just watch it to watch it. I switch what I am watching usually from the OL to the LB to the DL just watch the game as a fan with a bit more insight than your regular joe. I watch enough film during the week some times its just nice to watch football to watch football. Ditto!

I'm staying away from dc... That said, i'd punch this guy in the face. I'm afraid that is the same approach I would take as well.

Coach/driver here. I can testify, it sucks. Especially those long trips and we do not have an activity bus so its 55mph tops all the way.

We usually have atleast 5 that have to go both ways. We really have no choice because of the dropoff in ability.

I was at the World Clinic this past week and the coach who wrote the AFM articles spoke on the Spin Offense. He said that there is a 6 DVD series on it that is detailed. His name is Dale Weiner from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, LA. I guess you could get it from him or from AFM or some of the coaching video sites. He seemed like a genuine guy who really liked this package for his offensive gameplan. It is double wing/single wing principles from the gun with the QB always turning his back to the defense to conceal the giving or keeping of the football. I was also at the clinic. I would like more material on this offense if anyone has it.

I'm 25, and will be going into my 3rd year as an assisstant on the varsity level. I am also the Jr. High DC and Co-DC of the varsity. I, in no way feel like I am ready to be a head coach. Before I got out of college I thought I was ready and could handle it, but once I started coaching I realized there is so much involved that you do not even think about. Maybe when Im 30 Ill start applying to the smaller schools in the area. But even then, I will reflect and make a decision. Besides the fact that I am getting to learn under an older 3x state championship coach. As long as he's around as head coach, Im pretty sure I'll be tagging along picking up anything I can from him.

If coaches in general would sub their players in the 2nd half there wouldnt be a need for a mercy rule. Unfortunantley, we have coaches in our profession that get off on running up the score on inferior opponents.

Im looking for a video, maybe a 3 to 4 minutes long of big hits. We have a big district game coming up and I wanted to show my defense something to get them fired up. We dont fly around and swarm like we need to, so Im trying whatever I can think of to get them going. Anyone have any videos saved? Thanks.

What are your reasons for giving up on the 'I'? Just wondering because this is the offense I want to run one day.

What does everyone do with old facemask? We have changed colors 2 times now and we have 50+ gray and white facemask taking up space in our equipment room. Most are still in good shape too. I am just trying to come up with something to do with them besides dumping them in the garbage.

leadership----yes, I saw the Nick Saban motivational poster for "leadership" the other day. Had him calling his ex players and leaving voicemail messages to tell them he was gone, and the coaches would have to look for new jobs. "REad my lips...I will NOT be the head coach at Alabama" Leadership 101..tell em one thing, do the other. We all know you hate Nick Saban from previous threads. There's no need to hijack this thread and turn it into your own "Top 5 reason's I hate Nick Saban" thread. Back on topic, in no order: Tressell Spurrier Saban Meyer Tedford

We have it in MS, but I hate it. Someone seems to get hurt every year in the spring jamboree's. Three years ago our starting OLB broke is ankle. Two years ago our 3 year starting QB tore ACL and MCL. Last year our starting CB and RB broke his wrist. This year we made it out without anything quite that serious, but had several with bum ankles. It is a major liability.

As a young coach I am trying my best to sponge in everything I can. But sometimes I feel overwhelmed trying to learn everything all at once. I guess things come with time, but I still cant help but feel like I am behind.

We always let the kids do it. IT IS TOO FUNNY. They usually say coach can you put mine on. With any other decals I wouldnt mind, but getting those numbers straight can be tricky. I would rather do them all myself and have them look right than have half the teams look like crap.

Like the others have said, dont let the kids do it. What we have done in the past is just sat down a couple days before the first game and done them all. We also use the earhole and chin strap snaps as a guideline. You'll never get all the numbers perfect, but most will never notice.
