The report was just released so nothing has been done yet. As for the 50k he received the state had known about that as it had raised a stink about the amount so the WIAA had passed specific rules about that, something about how the school board had to vote on large amounts of money being paid liker that.

komonews.s3.amazonaws.com/bellevue_hs_school.pdfWhile not the only school that is bending/breaking the rules in our state they were the most successful and that was their downfall. Check out pages 13-15 that talks about the money that was raised I don't think our whole league has raised that amount of money in the last 10 years.

Not sure where this was done, think Montana so it may not work everywhere, but they had a landowner in a good hunting unit give the football team an access pass to hunt the person land. They advertised all over and raise like 15-20k.

good god, they hold their kid back to get a competitive advantage are you fricking kidding me? What is wrong with these parents. Would rather see them play flag then this crap. The unfortunate thing is that most of these "coaches" are a joke and as long as they have that type of place they will continue to think that they are "great"

So has anybody seen the promo for this new "reality" series. Its about youth football in Texas somewhere. Listening to the guys that are coaches from just the little saw makes me want to puke. They way they talked to their players would get most of us fired. Then of course you have the parents who a couple seemed to be really living through their child. The show looks to be one of those that shows whats wrong with youth sports not whats right.

That is what they line up in. they run weak lead, G down, wing sweep, strong lead, dive, strong sweep, TE screen. Have seen some 4-3 teams but they are all 4a schools. Starting to see a lot more of the zone read game.

Coach focus on the positive with your OL while they may be few a far between find something to give them "props" for. During the bye week tell them your going to work on 1 or 2 things that will help and go from there

Haha next. Wingtol that is old news the WIAA pasted a rule dealing with that issue in that the school board must vote on any pay from boosters. The accusations are always going to be around successful programs, I would bet dollar to donuts that the same or more over the top stuff goes on in Texas

As a public school I don't think they would let us have a "beverage". So the spots are just number 1-200 and its first come first serve or are people assigned a number/area? Do you let the people who bought the spots have 1st shot at them the following year?

I think I read about this on the board awhile ago but did not find anything about in searching the site. We are thinking about selling a season pass that comes with a parking spot at the field. In the post I read the team had 3 different"packages". We are thinking about trying this for the up coming year and am just looking to see what others have done/tried.

AS soon as they hold parents accountable for their kids they can start basing my pay on how their kids do. The constitution of our state says that parents are required to get their kids ready to go to school. That sure as heck is not happening

Good ideas thanks guys. Coachwoodall- that's really what I am looking to do is when you boil it down. Davisfc- many of the kids taking this class are not members of the MS football team so we might have some hands on stuff I want to be using their heads thinking about why a team runs what it does. cclement- good point about the I. Might just use it like you said as a formation that much of the concepts can be run from.
It's spring break here so I will be prepping for when I start. Anybody out there run the single wing? I am not very familiar with that offense.

I have given thought to the "families" concept for D going even and odd fronts and whats done with them. Instead of wishbone start with the I?

Awhile ago I posted that I was possibly going to be able to teach a football class in our middle school. Two of us in the school got the ok, the other coach is doing the history and I have been asked to look at more of the concepts in X's and O's. So my thought is I will start at the wishbone and work from there covering wing-t, veer, option, I, and Spread, and our HS O. On defense we will look at even fronts, i.e 4-3,4-4,4-2-5, and the odd 5-2, 5-3, 3-4, and 3-5 and then also coverages 3, 2, man.
My plan is to then place the kids in coaching groups of 3's so they have a "HC, OC,DC" then they will come up with their O and D in doing this they will have to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of their system. Then they will begin to scout out each other through the use of watching each other coaching on NCAA for Xbox. They will play each other in coach mode so they are just calling the plays.
What I would like to get from the vast array of coaches here is there thoughts on these different O's and D's. I know some having played and coached them but others I have only slight knowledge of.
So the first O and D I will start with is the wishbone and 4-4. For those of you that coach them what in your mind are the strengths and weaknesses. What must you be able to do in these schemes to be successful. Have at ti and thank you

Thank you guys for some more ideas. The concept started because we have used the period it hopefully will be taught for reading and math strengthening. The kids were told that for the last quarter there would be some "fun" classes offered. I didn't even think about social issues, kinda wrapped my mind around the x's and o's piece.
