looking for examples of coaches who have used a point based format ie. playing winter and spring sports, lifting, grades etc. for players to earn their numbers and gear selection. Positive negatives you have faced and an example if you send me one. Thanks

Not so much rage but they bug the crap out of me
1. Fellow teachers that don't enforce the rules because they are either to lazy or don't want to bother with it. We don't allow students to have coffee or energy drinks in the building. But I watch them walk by teachers all the time and then I am the bad guy
2. Kid that does nothing all quarter then comes up the day before the quarter ends and wants all their missing work. You haven't done anything up to this point what makes me think you are going to do it all in one night?
3. Parents who think their kid is the most brilliant thing in the world when in fact they are a B student at best. Then I have to hear how their child was a straight A student in 5th and 6th grade so why are the struggling in 8th?
4. Kids asking about retakes for a test before the test is even out. I have now taken away retakes.

Went to hear Murphy at the National wing-T clinic but he was not there !!!! Listened to Coach Eliot from Washington- I thought he was a defensive guy-was really impressed with his Jet/Fly sweep offensive system. He is bought. He have been running his Jet for a long time now. Very personable guy who will answer questions till your tired.

Glazier Clinic Seattle
Greg Vandagriff- He is a entertaining talker and gets right to his topic. Clear and concise went over how they teach what they do, coaching points he has learned to help you with those drills and was willing to stay and talk to anybody that had questions
Aaron Best- EWU HC/ Oline- Good speaker gets into the meat of his topic, His drills and teaching pieces are applicable for HS coaches
All Sports Northwest
Randy Jackson- Just an overall good guy and speaker. His talks on culture just gets your mind going on what you can incorporate in your own program
Kody Groves- Good talk on culture and how they run their version of the 3-4
Drew Sanders- Great talk on the coverage that they run and how they teach it

don't mean to hijack the thread, butit getting to be that time of year when we DO need to talk about the guys that wears shorts when its freezing Man whats wrong with shorts? Our deal is that if you start the year in them then you finish the year in them no matter what the weather. Only had to wear them in 1 or 2 snow games. Hat is backwards at times for signal purposes and I like having my D call sheet clipped on my belt, know where its at. Dang I am 3 for 3 and don't even coach the facemelter side.

So last week we played our rival at their place, only field in our league that is grass. Rained all week and then just poured during the game. Was an absolute sloop hole after the game. I was glad our kids got a chance to play a game like this. Lets them appreciate what they have. If you notice the football is clumped with mud, was a clean football 20 secs before

We usually end up 2 per bed but usually a king bed. Not like we do much sleeping anyways. Now that you've had a chance to read it do you see how bad that looks? Brings to mind this classic

We split the field with our soccer team. Now their coach starts his practice an hour later so we can have the whole field and when we are done they can then have the whole field.

"Lack of instutional control" is the term I believe that applies here. This is one reason I don't get into the hero worship of coaches/ big time HS programs. These guys were revered in the wing-t community for years and apparently were cheating their a$$es off the whole time. To win HS football games. It ain't X's and O's its Jimmy and Joe's

70 During the course of our investigation we have heard from several witnesses that Coach Goncharoff received payments far in excess of those reported by the Booster Club, ranging in amounts from $100,000 to over $300,000.
This was in the foot notes.
