What can I do to help my QB in handling a wet football? Is there something we can do to the leather balls to make them not so slippery? Thanks

we use ball dry during each series whenever we can get a new ball in. Other than that its about impossible if its soaked.

Go get some of the spray "New skin" and give a light coat on the balls. Ne skin is the stuff they are supposed to spray on the players before they put on the pre wrap.

I wanna piggy back off of this question, is there anything you can do to save a football after it has become completely soaked? We had a monsoon hit us during practice last week and soaked all of our footballs, ruining quite a few of them. Is there a conditioner anybody's used that they've had good luck with in trying to recondition a ball. We use Wilson GST.

We use "saddle soap" that we buy at a farm supply type of store. It basically a leather cleaner and conditioner applied like wax. It keeps the balls from drying out from the water and does provided some tackiness when they are wet.

We bought a dozen rubber balls to practice with when it rains. Saves leather balls from getting ruined at practice. Have even used them in games.

Haven't heard of the shoe polish. Definitely makes sense. Definitely going to use that.
You can coat the balls with a little but of pine tar as a protectant. You don't want too much or it becomes wierd to throw.
We store our game balls in kitty litter. Soaks up the moisture when they are wet. Works great.

Ive been at places that use saddle soap on balls after they get wet, and usually once a week or so to keep them good to go. Our OC did it so I'm not sure how often he did. Another thing we did a couple weeks ago that I thought was good was soak some old QB balls and throw soaked balls on Thursday. We knew there was a good chance of rain that Friday so we wanted to get them ready. Physically handling the ball I don't know what it did, but mentally it got them ready to be prepared to throw and catch a wet ball.
