Most aren't. "No-brainer" may have been overstating the case. Of course we'd consider the ability of the kicker. I understand. I was just checking to see if there was something else I wasn't considering other than the quality of kicker, punt protection issues etc. You will run at least 2 seconds off the clock before the safety So 12 seconds left Free kick time, either kick off or punt. Now the question I have is can u fair catch if they line up and punt the kick? If so can they then ask for a free kick and try a field goal? Or is that only in regular punts only? So let's say u can't, the kick should then take off at least 2 more seconds if they don't fair catch So now there is 10 seconds left. Can you get in field goal range in 10 seconds? I know our kicker this year if he gets off a good one would kick it down to the 20-15 yard line. So if they attempt a return your looking at it being maybe only 8 seconds left instead of 10 or possibly less.

I think the failure would be no te/ fb for goalie situations when the field gets compressed Or those are no longer 50 de out there, they are actually lb/ss type guys that can run a bit
That's one reason why smash mouth ball had came back some imo
People have put smaller fast guys all over the field to stop the spread, but those guys really don't like to mix it up close to the l o s that well or take on big ole fullbacks.
Also I've seen a lot of air raid guys going back to the 2- back , 3 wide look, and blending some malazahn run game ( buck sweep) with it and some power with their rpos

Couldn't u get some of the rns Lions oilers falcon stuff From the old tecmo super bowl video game or the old madden games? Aren't those suppose to pretty much be the actual playbooks? Or close.... And there is lots of mouse Davis videos out on the rns Those videos leave a whole lot on the table. What I mean by that, and this is true with zone tapes out their by gibbs, is that they give you little bits of juicy x and o's and then leave you hanging. Ok, makes sense,I have never watched any of the mouse videos so I wasn't sure how detailed he got

This game would be in early May. And within our area basically talking 30 schools total, not like the "whole" state, more like a border war.

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but we are wanting to take advantage of our good fortune of having good seasons and facilities.
Has anybody ever started a post season senior all star game? We were thinking 55 miles radius of us and putting a state vs state together. Of course we would need to check with our neighboring state to check rules there. Has anybody undertaken anything like his before. We thought about tying a coaches clinic in with it, if possibel

That's what we were thinking, I was kicking around the idea of one run play per drive? Not sure if our state will allow middle school age 7-9 grade do a league during school calendar, might have to have it set up through he lions club or Kiwanis . Have you had any problems ? Or any suggestions?
We thought 10-25 dollars Provide a shirt if it's 25 Cut the size of the field done for the young group and regular half a field 40 yard line and in for the older kids. Have a one day clinic with all the dads/adults that want to coach And provide 3-4 plays for the older kids that is our base, 2 screens and intermidiate route and a deep route and show some base defense man and cover 4.

There is a segment timer on there. Our head coach sets it up,'so I've never done it myself. But it will beep in the middle of song and say " period 1" etc etc

Fort smith north to the state line is the place to, especially along the 540 i49 corridor . Lots of good football, tons of growth, and big salaries , Myself, if got a hs staff teaching coaching just 20 miles east , one sport, you are talking 8-15 grand raise! Compared to my state.

Yes We are within a 25 miles area of 4 in Arkansas. And 3 of the schools have been kind enough to let us use theirs during bad weather during playoff time. We had one day of team camp at one 2 years ago when a turd floater lightening storm came. It was nice not to have the day wasted.

If u use your iPad to Bluetooth music during practice u can make it a segment/period timer too. I believe up to 24 segments. Before we got our stereo in a manger had a stop watch and blew the air horn to tell use

We don't use a lot of equipment either.
Speed ladder during oline prepractice While skill does settle noose etc
Then what ever is set for varsity group o or d After the first week we don't use much of anything except cones and maybe hand shields for tackling drills.
We use a sled for d line indo but it's a crappy one, if we get a new one this year oline will use it too.
Basically we only use a lot of equipment during spring ball and summer camps when there is lots and lots of teaching goin on and moving kids to try new positions .

That's kinda what we were thinking too.
We also were gonna have the coach or dad of the team be the center to do the snapping.

We are kicking around the idea of a 7-7 or 4-4 passing league for elementary kids. It would be like 4 -5 weeks long playing on 3-4 Saturdays, 2 ,20 minute games, then a round robin tourney on the last weekend. This would be for grades 1-2,3-4, 5-6.
Has anybody ever done one of these. I know around Plano , Texas, they are getting big. Was wondering if any body else has, any one issues came up.
We would probably get insurance through the nfhs. And U.S. High school coaches would be the officials calling the games.

Here in Oklahoma , I think there is 11 total, and only one broken arrow is a full field, and supposedly they are going to add a suspended 5-6 lane track attached to the second floor in it as well for track practice and I guess to host winter indoor meets too.
Most I have seen are 50-40, if some one is lucky it will be the full width.

So most of u guys have paid stipend coaches but not many that are teachers too like in Texas? Arkansas and Oklahoma is pretty much like that too with the exception of a few schools.

So it seems the more southern states are teachers and coaches with exception of u are the header. And other states might have one "full time" or two that teach also and the others get stipends and have outside jobs?
Is that hard to coordinate summer and spring stuff and clinic schedule ?

I know around here A couple years ago it was a foot of snow, and our state is equipped to handle things like that road wise cause it is a very rare once every 7-9 years type thing So because of that and all the ice Mainly ice playoffs postpone a week We practiced in he snow thanksgiving Then Friday just watched film and the next week drove to an indoor 28 miles a way for 2 practices and the 3rs day practiced outside on their turf cause the championship was gonna be on turf and at the time we didn't have it.
Lightening is another reason, we had a peach is this year that we did t even get to start till 5:00 o'clock k because of he lightening and all the gyms were already in use. And it allows u to train in the winter speed wise easier and not miss and spring practices or summer 7 on 7 cause of the weather if u host
