I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but we are wanting to take advantage of our good fortune of having good seasons and facilities.
Has anybody ever started a post season senior all star game? We were thinking 55 miles radius of us and putting a state vs state together. Of course we would need to check with our neighboring state to check rules there. Has anybody undertaken anything like his before. We thought about tying a coaches clinic in with it, if possibel

It might be easier to start smaller, just challenging the next district or something. State v state would be a huge undertaking, and it might be tough to get people to sign up for one more meaningless game in mid December. You could do it as a sori game, and the. It could be last season's all stars, last season's seniors, you could do rising seniors and call it a preview game, or Sr. Vs jr.
There are two here, one is all seniors, done in May (snow...), and they pick two main figures in Manitoba football to honour and have them split all the schools, usually based on connections to a given school and then splitting the remaining schools in a way that seems vaguely fair. Unfortunately since a few kids opt out or can't participate, it stretches a thin talent pool to the breaking point, so it's not a great game because even if the teams are fair there's going to be a few dangerously thin positions on each team. Last year I got roped into coaching one of the teams and I had no runningbacks. My top RB was a very thin DB that I begged and coerced to play RB for week, and I had three OL worth starting. So I'd advise you draw up some mock rosters to see how it would turn out.
He second game we have is usually a week or two after the first, and it's the top seniors making one team, essentially half the kids from the first game, and they play against the provincial team that's getting ready for the U-18 Canada Cup tournament. The senior team is largely a regrouping of last year's junior team, and it makes for a much better game because the age advantage is cancelled out by the fact that the juniors have been practicing together for a while.

This game would be in early May. And within our area basically talking 30 schools total, not like the "whole" state, more like a border war.

30 schools is about what it takes to get a good all star team, without being unruly. The question now is how does it schedule in around 7-7 madness?
