We are kicking around the idea of a 7-7 or 4-4 passing league for elementary kids. It would be like 4 -5 weeks long playing on 3-4 Saturdays, 2 ,20 minute games, then a round robin tourney on the last weekend. This would be for grades 1-2,3-4, 5-6.
Has anybody ever done one of these. I know around Plano , Texas, they are getting big. Was wondering if any body else has, any one issues came up.
We would probably get insurance through the nfhs. And U.S. High school coaches would be the officials calling the games.

For grades 1-2, maybe even 3-4 you'll have a pretty tough time getting offenses to move. They have neither the arm strength nor the accuracy to pass effectively, so make it 4-4 tops. Also, their brains will be pretty maxed out with 7-7.

That's kinda what we were thinking too.
We also were gonna have the coach or dad of the team be the center to do the snapping.

We have a 7 on 7 spring league the way we do it is for the younger age groups we do 5 on 5 Flag football. For 9 and 10U we do 7 on 7 flag you can only do so many running plays per drive. Middle school ages play regular 7 on 7. We Practice once a week play on Saturday.

That's what we were thinking, I was kicking around the idea of one run play per drive? Not sure if our state will allow middle school age 7-9 grade do a league during school calendar, might have to have it set up through he lions club or Kiwanis . Have you had any problems ? Or any suggestions?
We thought 10-25 dollars Provide a shirt if it's 25 Cut the size of the field done for the young group and regular half a field 40 yard line and in for the older kids. Have a one day clinic with all the dads/adults that want to coach And provide 3-4 plays for the older kids that is our base, 2 screens and intermidiate route and a deep route and show some base defense man and cover 4.

A good rule of thumb for field size that has held up for me in all kinds of situations is five yards in length for every play WR on the field, and half that in width. So for 5v5 you have ten players on the field, so you make a field 50x25. For simplicity just go sideways, and you can have four fields on a normal field, with five yards between each field, assuming you use the end zones.

We do 40 Yard field so you can run multiple games at once also we cut the width of the field down for 5 on 5.
