Federal department of education has already suspended regulations on schools having to test 95% of students, gave waivers to states on evaluations, and lifted the rule on requiring states giving special need students access to all the same services

Most of the country won't be going back to school this year

I’ll go and disinfect and clean the weight room and organize equipment.

The thousands of people that have died from this flu might disagree with your cold analogy. The 20,000 people in the US alone who have died from the flu this year would probably want us to care about them, but we don't seem to. However we sure do seem to be peeing our pants over the 5000 who have died worldwide from this. The truth is, for 97% of the people who get it, all you're getting is a cold. But we can reduce that 3 percent significantly by social distancing to buy time Plus once the health care system is so overwhelmed other normally non-life threatening health issues will become life threatening due to no capacity.

Iran has a ditch that you can see from space that they’re having to bury their dead in since they’re so overwhelmed.
Last week they were telling their people to kiss and lick religious monuments because the virus threat was a lie.
They will build herd immunity the fastest but they’re paying a hell of a price for it.

My wife is a doctor and I don't think these measures are over the top. The exponential growth is pretty wild on this if we don't do what we can to limit exposure.
Hopefully these measures will flatten the curve to cut the mortality rate by 10xs.
Northern Italy is basically a war zone with it right now.
Its the perfect virus for spreading and causing havoc and overwhelming our healthcare capacity. . Extremely contagious with a long incubation time of being contagious with little to no symptoms. ,

If they're just playing hard and physical, it's a nonissue. That's what we expect from are kids, and that's the cost of playing that way every so often.
If it's behavioral, we remove them from the game.

I don’t think it’s the smartest move, if it comes with crippling student debt. Easy to let an emotional decision lead you down a path that will cost you the rest of your life. Most of these D3 programs are State schools, so cost is not way out of line. Private schools, yes crazy money...CRAZY!....but at a State school you can be in 7-10K a year range which isn't great, but also not crippling. It's the other way around here. Most of our D3 schools are private with state schools being larger FBS and FCS teams.

1 D1 program in the state, ranked top 25 every year, recruits big boys mostly. But we have the best D3 schools in the country for football and they recruit in state kids heavily. No NAIA, and No D2. realistic expectations right, i mean if your a stud they will find you and they will recruit you. If they arent, in most cases its because you just arent that good. Nothing wrong with playing D3 getting an education and having fun in college. I don’t think it’s the smartest move, if it comes with crippling student debt. Easy to let an emotional decision lead you down a path that will cost you the rest of your life.

If the wife wants to bring the kids by at practice, I let her and don't see the big deal. They don't stay for meetings though.
I've really noticed how the players with broken homes are the ones that always gravitate to me interacting with my kids after practice.

The quickest way to administration is to suck at teaching but have enough name so they won't/can't fire you.
They'll hide you in a building, and give you some {censored} title.

That's why I love the single wing.
With motions and tags it can look like anything, but at its core is just a simple smash mouth style of play that's easy to expand on with your talent.
I think the kids enjoy any program that's ran well and they know they're getting better.

I have an offensive guard that will tackle the DL with perfect form. If I don't tell him, block good; tackle bad. Before the offense runs out on the field.
He might be the lowest kid I've ever coached. And I've wrote R&L on a lot of hands, so they'd know their right and left.

Keep it off the ground when not in use, and it will last for years.

I played for a HOF coach that would call a time out every 6 minutes into the quarter and save one timeout for end of half and game.
We would practice that way too. Really hard for 6 minutes and then a little break, so it was just kind of normal to us.

If you can't practice-prepare properly to compete,
and you are playing kids out of position (as in your last post) just to try to field a "team" -
What do you think is the right thing to do?
Also - at least some of your kids obviously care more about other things ("vaping") than they do about playing football-your team or program.
Cancel the season.
Start again next year after you've had a full Off-Season to try to build relationships and a stable program.
In some associations, there may be stiff penalties for sinpky cancelling a season. Just something to consider Yeah, it's common here to have contracts with a stiff monetary penalty for canceling a game. Between 5,000 and 10,000 dollars

Who decides if they’re physically fit to be varsity and where is that metric.
I’ve seen 130 pound professional ass kickers and I’ve seen 300 pound marshmallows that couldn’t move at all.

those are the guys that are fun to coach.
It might limit what you can do scheme wise but you're also going to be a team full of ass kickers if they're working those kind of jobs.

I honestly don’t think the concussion stuff is the main driver.
We now require so much more time with it being year round and the style of the game has changed to being played in more space.
That’s a double edged sword to those not really talented. We’re wanting more of your time while it’s also harder to find a spot for you on the field.

I don’t use it during the season but I love the towel game.
Tape the ends and middle of the towel. Have three players grab one of the places and make a triangle with tall cones or bags.
First one that can pull to their cone and touch it while holding on to the towel wins.
I make the other students place their bet. Which just means they pick who they think will win so they don’t have to do 3 push-ups, sit-ups or up downs if their guy wins. Losers all do something to have some skin in the game.
My kids go crazy for it and beg to do it after workouts during the summer.

The system is letting us eat for free in the lunch room on Thursday.
Our school's lunch ladies, changed the menu to cold cut sandwiches and a bag of chips instead of homemade rolls, mashed taters, and the good chicken.
The woman over our lunch room is a bit of a bitch, if you couldn't tell.

It's a players game, but if you're staying at 10-2 for a career you'll out coaching a lot of damn people.

If prices were set and the government standardized everything thirty years ago, we would still be using VHS tapes. Sorry, but no. The government constantly regulates and standardizes things. Hell, the reason my pickup truck has a backup camera, tire pressure monitoring, and traction control isn't because of supply and demand. It's because they're required by law. And, frankly, they all make my truck a hell of a lot nicer than the one I had 10 years ago. I don't think this is true. You have all of those things because a company decided to add these features to make their product more desirable. Now government officials might have mandated it later to all vehicles in the name of safety, but that only reduced consumer choice and pushed the cost on the consumer even if they didn't want/need it.

I bet you will see competitors soon since Hudl has gorged their consumers a little too much too fast.
Hudl carved out a nice niche market and totally changed how we as a profession handle film and what we can do with it. Just because they own the market place now doesn't mean they always will.

When a teacher comes up to you and tells you your football kid did this or didn't do this in class.
I've never went to them bitching about how their social studies student missed a tackle or block.
