Custodians do but our players have a level or respect and responsability that they follow. I would never allow them to leave the lockerroom trashed.

ndoc, its really simple...... they just give ground and take who comes to them. They dont have an assigned person. its not bob or gap.
I know, I know it sounds crazy!

Does anyone have a video of their kids working out? I am not really looking for drills or workouts but rather the work ethic. I need somthing to show my kids. They just dont get how hard they need to work.

I went through the exacte same thing last year. My rule is miss 1 practice dont start miss 2 dont play. We had almost the entire practice miss a practice one week and I had to start 10 kids that game. It sucked but I have had only legit absences for sickness this year.

Coaches what do you do when you only have 22 or less players?? I am struggling to have enough for practice, and have coaches playing Qb and WR.
I need some ideas.

A coach I know uses buffer pads that the custodians use instead of trash cans. They are easier to carry, free and serve the same purpose.

Move your QB to full back and work the Hb's at QB and HB. One of them will step up. I came into a situation with an unathletic QB that could throw, but he was a tough kid, we moved him to FB and then we had our best kid at QB and second at FB, they are going to have the ball 80% of the time. You have to force the D to stop the FB and QB first then your less athletic HB's will have wide open running range.
A coach that I am very close with said a defensive coordinator told him this about the option: If a offense runs the play 30 times in a game an runs it perfect ten times and the defense defends is perfect 1/2 of those ten times it 35 - 0 offense.

HEy guys I am looking for an OC position. Pretty much willing to go anywhere and coach any style of O. Love the Wishbone/Option. But willing to run whatever offense fits the kids the best.
Coached varsity offensive line for the past three years, two at current school. Played for 4 at University of North Texas O-Line again. 1st year of varsity coached o-line in the option double wing/wishbone offense that I would like to base out of. The past two year I have been coaching in the Gregory Portland wing t offense that has been taylored to fit our personell. First year we ran straight wing t. This past year we altered the offense to more shot gun option and slash, more formations and plays to fit the type of kids we have. I feel that the past two years I have seen and developed a system that will allow my offense to implement any play needed very easily.
My biggest assets are my willingness to do whatever is neccisary to win, ability to build blocking schemes for new series or plays, and my moto is K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) I believe that any kid needs to be able to step in and run the O at any time. I prefer doing few things perfect to doing a lot of things mediocre.
Looking for a chance to prove myself. T

The Cheek/Jaw area is the #1 area for concusions. Take a DNA by the Jaw pad and sweeze it together. Then take a Revolution and try the same. That is what Riddell changed their helmet (Saftey) Schutt did it for looks. We have DNA's that the last head coach bought and they are okay however I am going to buy Riddells from now until schutt changes. I am in it for safety not looks

We talk about playing time with the parents as long as the athlete is in the meeting also. That will eliminate a lot of the parent complaints. If the meeting does occur, then we point out what they are not doing to enhance their opportunity (summer weight room ect.). Never bring up a kid whos parents are not in the meeting.

I really like this game for the most part. The beggining is really slow but once you hit preseason it gets going. The are pluses and minuses to this game, but overall not too bad.

okay guys. I just landed my first head job and am going to have my first team meeting monday. I going to talk about the following:
TEAM Together Everyone Achieves More
laying the foundation expectations weights conditioning
I am also having a meeting with all the males in the HS and JR high about the new direction of the program and am going to encourage them to come out.
Any thoughts, ideas, or additions?
Thanks Turney

We as a staff have emphasized TEAM the whole spring and now need to take the next step. I am looking for a shirt idea for our kids workout shirts next year. I have thought of the following with PAnther at the top, football at the bottom and quote in the middle, but they just dont seem to hit the nail on the head.
Laying the Foundation Whatever It Takes! No Excuses!! Build a NEW Tradition

we just had a lift a thon and asked for flat dontations not pound per pound because of the calculating and collection of money. On the day of the lifting I sent the boys and girls out in groups for a BLITZ and we raised over $6000 at a small 1-A. Our goals was for each male and female athlete to raise $100 and most did.
