Very rarely has a team linked up the way I thought they would. When they do it's bc they know they are better and don't need to out scheme themselves. So when we show up Friday only to see something we hadn't prepared for our kids pee down their leg.
I like this! I like it a lot but think I would mix in a little more of what I think I'll see. Maybe 30%.

What do you do, other than typical lifting and abilities, to develop football skills?

I have always thought that taking notes of things that need to be addressed (throughout practice and film) and then covering those issues the following day in Indy would help pace, attention and overall be more effective. FYI we are not a no huddle team.

Always make sure to let people know where they stand and why. Make sure the rules are clear and enforced.

Well I have to say that more than anything it has to do with relationships. If the head FB coach builds relationships with the bball kids, then eventually they will play. It's ALL about RELATIONSHIPS.

The good kids will get better. Its hard to eliminate kids from a program Mike leach said something to the effect he never regretted getting rid of any kid he cut but there were some he wish he had cut after it was all done...... Adam James.

Focus on the ones who are doing right and want to be there. Try deserve it. Make sure you don't loose your head bc of frustration and build for the future. It's hard but playing the most talented kids doesn't always equal success. Some times lesser talented kids are more coachable and that makes up the difference

One place I coached we had a couple of rooms set up. Room A had lights out/meditation. Room B was wrestling and what not. Room C was guy hanging and talking. Kids went where they wanted to to get mentally ready for the game.
Personally I just want to know they are focused. Not pumped. Being pumped ends after the first hit.

Your not gonna see everything. Just look for specific things that you can take advantage of.

Gotta coach on the run. I ask my coaches to take notes as we go through practice and make corrections in Indy on the following day

Basically I always wanna know who made the tackle and what they are doing to formations/motions........ After each series I want to talk about who made the play and try to figure out why or how we can take advantage of it.

Go with Riddell, there is a reason that the NFL uses them.

Actually the sheet leach has is a tally sheet. He calls plays and tries to make sure that he does so in a manner that everyone gets the ball and there is not one player the D can Key on.
