Run and lift in the off season. Then take a break durring the regular season.
Got to work out in the off season just to be prepared for all the crap you eat coming home from the away games! Coaches eat for free at most fast food places, so what are ya gonna do?? ;D

Senior Nose Tackle says, "We drew the tags for our elk hunt, we may not get this chance again for years!"
My reply......"And how many chances will you get to play football again after highschool?"

there are many reasons that a program could be down IMO. It may be coaching, it may be a lack of numbers participating, no talent, no support, no work ethic, no strength program. I think these would be just a few reasons why a program is not very good. Each town seems to have its own MO. I agree with JD on this one. I coach at small school of about 370. There are other schools in our conference that are just under 1000. Sometimes the numbers alone can make it hard to be competitive. Two seasons ago we were 0-9, the next season we were 7-3. I have a hard time believing that we were that bad of a staff two years ago, and then all of the sudden got our acts together the following season. Like JD said, there are a lot of variables involved every season.

Amen to that! Our defensive playbook is full of I form...LOL
Now add motion to the balanced offense and watch the vultures (offensive coaches in the box) pick out the weak link to our now vanilla defense.

Bottom line- Get the kid into the school that offers him the most money for his education. Even if it's "I hate high school coaches University."

I was asked by one of our ast. coaches today....."What is the craziest thing you have been a part of or witnessed on game day?".........Laughing, I said...... ......"It would have to be a couple of years ago when we had a girl from the school ride in on a horse waving the American flag as the National Anthem was being played. Well, about half way through the anthem, the horse stopped, squatted, and took a wizz that would have filled a bath tub rite on the 35 yard line. Then, after the band finished playing, the horse and rider trotted off the field and seconds later the horse gave a couple shakes, and fell over DEAD of a heart attack!! As if that was'nt enough, when the game finally got going we kicked off and the first tackle was made.......yep, rite in the pool of piss! Looked like a commercial for a water park! LOL ;D ;D That game I will NEVER forget! Anyone else have any crazy game day stories?
