go to the team website and email him....I find most coaches respond if your question is well written and you are professional about it...

So just heard a "QB expert" speak at a clinic. I don't want to use a name (trust me if you hear him speak you will know who it is)....he seemed to have some good ideas. But he Name dropped the whole time, bashed pretty much every other QB coach on the planet. Says he always tells the kids "listen to your coach"...but if you are going to openly bash everyone of your peers in a clinic, I find it hard to believe you don't bash the kids coach when he is one on one....And when I say bash, I mean BASH, pretty much every QB coach who doesn't teach EXACTLY what he does is a "freaking idiot"....seriously...
But what really has me pissed is one session was supposed to be Drills....he gave NO drills, in fact went so far as to say he doesn't give "away my secrets for free"!! Why speak at a damn clinic then? He showed a bunch of film of one of his "Names". Again some of what he said, though it was all over the place made some sense....
1st time I have ever been to a clinic and heard a guy speak, and just out right bash every other coach in his field?? Most guys respect others and just say "more than one way.....". Not this guy, and again a whole session that was billed as DRILLS! NOT ONE DAMN Drill. Even when coaches asked for examples he refused to give them....always said..."we can talk in private"..."too hard for me to explain in a short time".....
And the names he dropped were all 3rd tier guys, back ups, journey men... so I thought that odd....I mean if you are using these guys as examples of how great you are wouldn't you at least have 1 solid starter...1 top 15 guy? Anyway, just thought it in poor taste to bash all your peers like that.....
Wont be sending my kids his way anytime soon....

IS there a Youth Program already? If there is already a youth program going, why not build a relationship with them? So your value, work with the coaches. Most youth programs want see the value in having a close relationship with the HS coach. Only problem I see is if the program already feeding you is run by a bunch of idiots like those Friday Night Tykes coaches....then your screwed and you need to start a new program...

Ok...this is a huge issue for every youth program. Fact is there about 70-75 plays in an avg youth game. So if as a youth coach you cant get a kid 15 plays you are not even trying. If a kid practices he should play. It's easy, hide a bad kid with 10 good kids and rotate. 1st how often do you throw at 6th grade....not often, so run plays in with WR, and throw when you have your good kid/s in. Play a bad 3 tech when your stud LBers are in. Hide 2-3 on specials. trust me it can be done, and your HS coach will love you for it. fact is most kids quit because of bad experience at youth level. If the kid has fun, they will keep coming back. YOUTH Football guys, Nick Saban isn't signing your 11 year old....no matter what some expert tells you, he just isn't...let have fun!

I use both. Remember game day they need to know what you are talking about. learned the hard way, was talking to a group of dad coaches about trap, started talking about how we wanted to trap the 3 tech, and I looked out and every one was looking at me like I spoke Chinese. Finally one dad asked "what is a 3 tech". Up to that point we just gave them drills and a playbook....so for years they were teaching a system they did not understand...EMOL was another question...

If you are a feeder then the HS HC should have enough respect to call you, if for no other reason then to keep the relationship good. End of the day we are in the people business, and last thing you need is someone who feeds your program mad at you....

Here is something to think about. Why do all of these studies fail to mention drug usage? We all know NFL players are given opioids, and we also know that some also used illegal drugs. So why is that never mentioned in the research? I believe that we know drugs cause brain issues, so why isn't that ever discussed in the scientific research?
