Tell me to explore all their options. Talk to position coaches at these D-1 schools. Also be willing to meet with parents and the player about the players options

agree. Pile it on early, get the starters out after the first series in the 3rd quarter. Play up the "playoff like" atmosphere. You can still prep for the playoffs by showing one or two offensive sets during team d or the front during team o.
My senior year we practiced against the counter trey all year. We never knew that our coach had been preping us for our big district game since two a days. We killed that play and went on to make a nice run in the post-season

At the end of the day, we all can have our opinions, but our HC makes the final call.

First year on staff-very little. I was just getting my feet wet, did alot of JV subbing
Second Year- Rolled Varsity DLINE (Head JV Coach at the time)
3rd year: Rolled all subs defense and specials (Head JV)
4th Year: DC at a new school. I let my JV d cordinator (Varsity dbacks coach), whos in his second year coaching roll subs. He is also in charge of the tendancy chart. D-line coach is the head coach so he has other fish to fry. My middle school DC helps out when hes here, but doesnt know alot about what we are doing because he has his own team to worry about and isnt at our practice or in our meetings.

The way the article read was, his starters didnt play much. I loved the fact he got emails complaining that his starters didnt play ENOUGH.

I hate that problem, to many athletes. Hows your season going? If it anit broke dont fix it. Put the kid who is an athlete somewhere on the field where he can help you and rep him with 2's at qb.

AC/DC is cliche. Death March works well if you have black unis.

How do you get hooked up with a job like that? I'd love to coach over-seas for a year!

Honestly, as silly as this one sounds
"The Game" by Motorhead WWE wrestler uses it as his theme (or used it) and its pretty cool.
"Click Click Boom" Saliva
"Its a fight" 3-6 Mafia (make sure to get the edited version
"Till The Day I die" Story of the Year

Agree. They are high school kids. Limit the activites, but dont just flat out say no homecomming. We let them do the parade, and crap at half time. Half is normally longer so they dont miss to many adjustments.
We have a bonfire on Thursdays the night before the game. Bonfire is from like 8-10:30. We tell our players, thats great, go, hold your girlfriends tight, but your still home by 10:30. So they have to leave early.
And as always, leave them with this: Homecomming is great, but the game is the main event. People from all the years past will come back and say "they are pretty good, but not as good as we were." LEAVE NO DOUBT who is the best team this school had." Also I like this line "Homecomming sucks if you lose the game."
