Interested in hearing practice schedules for teams where all players have offensive/defensive position. Any ideas/input appreciated. Thanks!

We went 12 periods O and 12 periods D, 2 periods specials up front, and 2 periods of specials in the middle with s 2 period break. Worked well for us. When varsity was on O JV worked D.

Much like mentioned above. Monday, and Tuesday we had a 24 period practice. 12 O, 12 D. Special teams and installing the game plan were not on the clock Monday, and special teams were not on the clock Tuesday either. Wednesdays we would cut the schedule to 20 periods, 10 O and 10 D. Thursday walk thru.
A Tuesday schedule for us on D would look like this
Pursuit-5 Indy-15 Tackle Circuit-10 (this block changed pretty regularly-really whatever I thought we needed to work on, could be tackle, could be a certain play, or a certain D) Inside Run-10 (More Indy time for DBs) 7 on 7-10 (More Indy time for DL) Team-10

People change... This is what we evolved to the back half of this year. Monday: Offensive Emphasis/Full Pads Start practice with tackling circuit. Oklahoma Drill Do a bunch of offensive blah, blah, blah. Last 15 minutes of practice is Defensive Align & Assign plus Pursuit Drill. Tuesday: Defensive Emphasis/Helmets Start practice with tackling circuit Do a bunch of defensive blah, blah, blah Last 15 minutes run Power/Variations vs bags. Wednesday: Team Emphasis/Helmets & Shoulder Pads Start with tackling circuit Work 10 Plays of D, Work 10 Plays of O, rinse and repeat till end of practice. Last 15 minutes Power vs 7 Man Sled/Pursuit Drill. Thursday: Off I would suggest the book "Lean Startup" or just a general investigation on Lean Methodology when designing a practice schedule.

We just split practice. One day may have more offense then the next more defense but I along with our kids prefer split practice over emphasizing one side of the ball each day.

How long are you practicing? Do you do anything on Thursday?

We have an athletic PE period during the day and we have most, but not all of our players in there. So we do film/special teams during that time. Two hours during the preseason and we were down to 90 minutes by our 2nd or third game. We do a team meal/fellowship type deal on Thursday. But zero practice.
